Learn how to care/maintain a sourdough starter, observe a bread dough making demonstration, and get answers to the most common questions made while making sourdough. You will get ALL of Sandra's tips/tricks associated with sourdough bread making focused on keeping the process simple and manageable for anyone interested in making sourdough bread. This 90 minute in-person Sourdough Starter workshop includes a fresh active starter and printed copy of the essential information for each registered participant. Birch Tree Resist Paintings

Learn how to paint the perfect woodland scene, featuring birch trees and accompanying leaves, using a few simple techniques and materials. You will be guided, step-by step, through the painting process and be introduced to the art terms and techniques related to this project. On Black History Makers Day, we celebrate amazing Black leaders, inventors, artists, and heroes from the past and today. Kids will learn their stories, make fun art projects, and try activities inspired by their achievements. It’s a day to explore history, be creative, and think about how we can make a difference too! This enrichment class is run in partnership with our school-age care program, Friendship Connection, which helps us keep costs low and offer engaging opportunities before school, after school and on non-school days.

Bob Ross Style Painting - Majestic Mountain

Discover the joy of painting—no experience required! Instructor Jay Rupp loves working with people who’ve never picked up a brush, can’t draw a stick figure, or don’t consider themselves “artistic.” In fact, the more reluctant you are, the more fun you’ll have and the more amazed you’ll be by what you create! Using the signature wet-on-wet oil painting technique made famous by Bob Ross, you’ll paint a serene “Majestic Mountain” landscape step-by-step. All materials - including paints, brushes, and a 16x20” canvas - are provided. Your masterpiece will be ready to take home, frame, and display the same day (though it will take about four weeks to fully dry). Frames will also be available for purchase during class. Whether you’re a total beginner or a seasoned painter, come experience the magic of painting happy little trees! Registration for all class sessions closes 3 days before the start date. Friendship Connection
Friendship Connection is the district's school-age childcare program that provides care before and after school, on non-school days, and during the summer. We are open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and offer our students opportunities in areas such as science, engineering, creative arts, cooking, sports/fitness, language arts, and technology. Registration for School Year 2025-26 is now open. Registration for Summer 2026 and School Year 2026-27 will open February 23, 2026. All registrations will take time to process. We will contact you if your registration is on hold due to staffing. If your site is on a waitlist due to staffing, you may still submit your registration and we will contact you with the potential start date (if staffing is available) or an update regarding the site you are enrolled at.

Create a cozy home for insects using natural materials like sticks, pinecones, leaves, and bark! Kids will learn how bugs help our environment by giving them a safe space to live and rest. Stack materials inside a box or plastic bottle with holes, then place it outside in a shady garden spot. This hands-on project encourages curiosity about nature and supports local pollinators and decomposers! Cake Bake Taste Test Camp

Students will get to test and taste different baking recipes of cakes and observe the differences between them. This fun, tasty take on a measurable science experiment will leave students wanting more as we explore how different ingredients and their amounts impact the texture, density, and taste of a cake. We’ll also experiment with cooking methods, including air fryer cakes, toaster oven cakes, and microwave cakes. Please identify any food allergies or restrictions at the start of class or upon registration. Join us in this non-separating yoga class, where you and your little one will have fun moving together, exploring sights, sounds and movement. Crafted with postpartum-safe movements, it's just the right blend of relaxation and strength-building for your body. We will also be discussing some basics of infant growth and development, and helping you connect with a supportive community of new parents. Parent Educator Jessica has years of experience working with postpartum parents and families, helping them reconnect with their bodies through yoga and mindfulness. Children's ages birth-10 months as of class start date. Yoga mats are provided.

Cherry Blossom Acrylic Pour Painting
Art
Pour painting is an innovative way to use acrylic paint to create an art piece. In this class you will learn the process of mixing acrylic paints with other materials to give it a more fluid consistency so that it can be poured directly onto a canvas. In this class we will learn how to manipulate the paint to create a beautiful Cherry Blossom Tree. An 8 x 10 canvas and all the supplies for the pour are included. Please bring a box or tray to bring your canvas home in. Registration for all class sessions closes 3 days before the start date.
