Youth Lessons

Students will learn: 50 yards – Any stroke/combination Survival float 2 minute Streamline glide into front crawl Streamline glide into back crawl Front crawl 25 yards (w/ rotary breathing and open turn) Elementary backstroke 50 yards Breaststroke 25 yards (w/ open turn) Back crawl 25 yards (w/ open turn) Butterfly 10 yards (w/ open turn) Sidestroke 25 yards Flip turns Tread water for 60+ seconds (w/ multiple kicks) Retrieve multiple objects off bottom of pool in deep water Standing dive from side of pool (PARKVIEW POOL ONLY) Water Safety Skills Parents MUST remain in the building during lessons and should stay within eyesight of the pool for quick contact if needed

Students will learn: 25 yards – Any stroke/combination Survival float 1 minute Underwater streamline glide on front Underwater streamline glide on back Front crawl 15 yards (w/ rotary breathing) Elementary backstroke 25 yards Breaststroke 15 yards Back crawl 25 yards Sidestroke 10 yards Dolphin kick 10 yards Open turn on front Open turn on back Tread water for 60+ seconds Retrieve multiple objects off bottom of pool in shallow water Kneeling dive from side of pool (PARKVIEW POOL ONLY) Water Safety Skills Parents MUST remain in the building during lessons and should stay within eyesight of the pool for quick contact if needed

Level 3, Ages 9+
Youth Lessons

Students will learn: Front float with roll to back float Back float with roll to front Survival float with 3+ breaths Front glide in streamline position (two body lengths) Back glide in streamline position (two body lengths) Front crawl 10 yards Elementary backstroke arms 10 yards Breaststroke kick 5 yards Back crawl 10 yards Swim, Float, Swim 25 yards Tread water for 30+ seconds Retrieve object off bottom of pool in deep water Seated dive from side of pool (PARKVIEW POOL ONLY) Water Safety Skills Parents MUST remain in the building during lessons and should stay within eyesight of the pool for quick contact if needed.

Youth Lessons

This course focuses on water exploration for children ages 3 to 5! Students will work on very basic water skills to help build confidence and comfort in and around water. Promoting water safety from a young age will help to keep your child safe as they become more self-confident and believe in their abilities. The pool can also provide a lot of entertainment and enjoyment for young ones! Skills taught: Enter & Exit water using steps or side Blow bubbles with mouth Look at objects on bottom of pool Front float for 3+ seconds (w/ support) Back float for 3+ seconds (w/ support) Roll from front to back (w/ support) Roll from back to front (w/ support) Front glide (w/ support) Back glide (w/ support) “Scooping” on front (w/ support) Kicking on front (w/support) Kicking on back (w/ support) Jump into water (w/ support) Put ears in water "Monkey" Crawl along wall Follows Directions Water Safety Skills Note: Students who are still working on potty training MUST wear appropriate swim diapers and plastic covers. Students will be turned away if not wearing the appropriate swim diapers/covers. Parents MUST remain in the building during lessons and should stay within eyesight of the pool for quick contact if needed.

Youth Lessons

This course focuses on water skills for children ages 3 to 5 that are ready to swim on their own! Students will build on their water skills and grow their independence. Promoting water safety from a young age will help to keep your child safe as they become more self-confident and believe in their abilities.
