In this engaging and interactive camp session, children will explore the traditions, languages, and celebrations that make up the diverse Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities. Through stories, food tastings, music, art, and games, campers will develop an appreciation for different cultures while celebrating unity and diversity. This enrichment class is run in partnership with our school-age care program, Friendship Connection, which helps us keep costs low and offer engaging opportunities before and after school.

In honor of Hmong Culture Month, children will explore the beautiful traditions, language, art, and history of the Hmong people. Whip up some fun and turn plain cakes into delicious works of art! Learn to spread, swirl, and pipe yummy buttercream while making your cake as colorful and creative as your imagination. Students will get to test and taste different baking recipes of cakes and observe the differences between them. This fun, tasty take on a measurable science experiment will leave students wanting more as we explore how different ingredients and their amounts impact the texture, density, and taste of a cake. We’ll also experiment with cooking methods, including air fryer cakes, toaster oven cakes, and microwave cakes. Ready for cooking adventure and learning to make delicious camp-style favorites like French toast, noodles, s’mores, and breakfast burritos!? Kids will have fun cooking, tasting, and building real kitchen confidence while exploring the joy of food. AM/ PM Camp only registration includes 2 hours of themed activities. Full day option includes both AM and PM camps as well a variety of activities including move and groove time, team building, recess, snack and lunch provided by Nutrition Services AM Camp No-Bake Delights 9:30am-11:30am No- Bake Delights: Calling all snack lovers! This hands-on cooking camp is all about making fun, easy, and totally tasty no-bake treats. Over the week, students will whip up a different dessert or snack each day while learning simple kitchen skills—and of course, taste-testing their creations! PM Camp Storybook Cooking 1:30pm-3:30pm Storybook Cooking: Step into your favorite storybook, one bite at a time! In this camp, students will bring beloved children’s stories to life by creating fun, themed foods inspired by classic tales. Each day features a new book, a new recipe, and plenty of imagination, creativity, and tasty fun!
