Learn how to care/maintain a sourdough starter, observe a bread dough making demonstration, and get answers to the most common questions made while making sourdough. You will get ALL of Sandra's tips/tricks associated with sourdough bread making focused on keeping the process simple and manageable for anyone interested in making sourdough bread. This 90 minute in-person Sourdough Starter workshop includes a fresh active starter and printed copy of the essential information for each registered participant. Kids will mix simple household ingredients to create stretchy, squishy, and super fluffy slime! Using glue, shaving cream, baking soda, and contact solution, students explore how combining materials causes a fun chemical reaction. This hands-on STEM activity encourages creativity, sensory play, and learning about states of matter—all while making something they can play with and take home. This enrichment class is run in partnership with our school-age care program, Friendship Connection, which helps us keep costs low and offer engaging opportunities before and after school.

Send your taste buds on a trip to romantic France! During this hands-on class, you will prepare a course French dinner that will be sure to impress. Provence, the regional home to Marseille, Nice and the Riviera, often bases its cuisine on garlic, olive oil, tomatoes, saffron, and herbs. Experience vichyssoise, potato galettes, saffron rice, coquilles St. Jaques a la Provencale and créme caramel. You will also learn something of the history and culture of the French Provence region. Friendship Connection
Friendship Connection is the district's school-age childcare program that provides care before and after school, on non-school days, and during the summer. We are open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and offer our students opportunities in areas such as science, engineering, creative arts, cooking, sports/fitness, language arts, and technology. Registration for School Year 2025-26 is now open. Registration for Summer 2026 and School Year 2026-27 will open February 23, 2026. All registrations will take time to process. We will contact you if your registration is on hold due to staffing. If your site is on a waitlist due to staffing, you may still submit your registration and we will contact you with the potential start date (if staffing is available) or an update regarding the site you are enrolled at.

Gardening with Native Plants (*NEW!*)

Learn about the benefits of growing native plants. In this class you will find out how to identify native plant species and get ideas for using these plants in the landscape, plus information on how to design, install and maintain a native plant garden. In this garden-themed club, students will have the opportunity to learn about the life cycle of different plants. We’ll decorate some mini pots, plant take-home plants, and start our own community garden. No experience is needed for this club, just an interest in growing and a willingness to learn! Discover the rich culture of henna. Henna is a dye prepared from leaves of a henna tree also known as Egyptian privet. Henna is temporary body art resulting from the staining of the skin from the dyes. After stains reach their peak color, they hold for a few days, then gradually wear off, typically within two to three weeks. Learn the basics of henna tattoos and practice them.
