Composting is nature’s magic trick - turning yard waste, food scraps, cardboard, and other organic bits into rich, healthy soil! Whether you’re brand new to composting or frustrated by a pile that just won’t cooperate, this workshop will set you up for success. Guided by a certified composting instructor, you’ll learn a variety of methods for both indoor and outdoor setups, walk through the key steps and ingredients, and tackle common problems with confidence. There’s no better time to cut food waste and give back to the Earth! Learn how to transform everyday leftovers into nutrient-packed compost that fuels a thriving garden season.
Registration for all class sessions closes 3 days before the start date.
Late Registration: If you miss the deadline but are still interested, you can contact the Community Ed office by emailing us at CommunityEd@isd623.org or calling: 651-604-3770. Space may be limited, but we'll try our best to accommodate late registrations.
Refund Policy
If you need to cancel your registration, in order to receive a refund, you must notify Roseville Area Schools Community Education at least one (1) week prior to start date of the class/event/camp/activity, and that I will be issued a refund minus a $5 service charge. Registrations are not refunded in the event of a weather cancellation.
Elsa Oliveri is a garden instructor who provides guidance and education through Earthtender Garden & Compost Coaching. Elsa helps new growers learn the land they inhabit and achieve their goals through hands-on demonstrations, tailored feedback, and resourceful educational materials. For the past decade, Elsa has worked with organic farms, community gardens, and other learning spaces and has found belonging and purpose in rekindling a sense of connection with nature through gardening.
