Ceramics Wheel Throwing
Learn the basics of creating pottery on the wheel. This class is designed for the beginner as well as individuals who wish to continue developing their skills on the potter’s wheel. Each class will include a demonstration and independent work time. The instructor will assist you with developing basic throwing skills as well as advanced techniques. Participants will learn how to create cylinders, bowls, vases, mugs, and more. This is a great class to learn at your own pace and have fun. On this cheerful spring-themed day, students will explore the wonders of nature by learning how plants and flowers grow. Through hands-on gardening, students will develop an understanding of the plant life cycle and the importance of caring for our environment. This lesson encourages curiosity, teamwork, and appreciation for the beauty of springtime growth. This enrichment class is run in partnership with our school-age care program, Friendship Connection, which helps us keep costs low and offer engaging opportunities before and after school. Students participating in these classes will check in with Friendship Connection, receive a snack, and have a brief recess before class begins. Each school receives one free class as part of our commitment to equity. These offerings are designed specifically to increase access for students who attend that school, especially those who may not have the financial means to participate in enrichment. To support this purpose, free classes are reserved for students enrolled at the hosting school.

Poor posture and pain in the joints and muscles go hand in hand. In this workshop, learn how to improve your posture which will in turn improve your balance, your gait, your strength, your joint pain and help you breathe easier. Posture really is that important! You will leave with exercises and techniques to improve your posture, no matter where you’re starting.

Do you want a healthy, strong, lean, and toned body? This is the class for you. Exercises are modified to accommodate all levels and are designed to hit all major muscle groups to improve muscular strength and endurance. Hand weights are provided. Please bring a floor mat.

Food on a stick isn’t just for the Fair! Join Kirsten live online to move beyond the basic Caprese Skewers into a world of color, flavor, and possibilities. Kirsten will share the 3 Rules of Skewering and demonstrate multiple methods to pleasingly present your offerings. From vegan to omnivore there are recipes for everyone. Participants will receive an extensive handout along with the link to join prior to class. There will be ample time for questions during the session, and participants will receive a link to the recording afterwards so you can cook along at your convenience.. Super Mario- Themed Coding with Tech Academy

This course will give you hands-on experience developing your game using Scratch, a visual coding platform. Students will learn to think like programmers and learn coding concepts while creating a 2-dimensional, arcade-style Super Mario Bros.-themed game. The first part of the class will be instructor-led. With any remaining time, students will have the opportunity to customize their games. Bring a USB drive to save your games on the last day. Super Mario Bros. is a trademark of Nintendo of America Inc. This camp is not affiliated with them. T'ai Chi Chih
Fitness
Explore the benefits of T’ai Chi Chih, a moving meditation that improves balance and flexibility, reduces stress, and promotes mindfulness and concentration. The practice of T’ai Chi Chih is easy to learn regardless of age or physical ability. Come as you are—no special clothing required, just bring flexible shoes or barefoot. Work with an accredited instructor on a healing art, not a martial art. Registration for all class sessions closes 3 days before the start date. T-Shirt Design Lab

Students will create their own custom program T-shirts using fabric markers and paint. This fun activity promotes creativity, giving each student a chance to design a shirt that shows their personality and pride in the program. Talk, Read and Play With Me!

Each week, you and your child will experience a children’s book by Mo Willems. We will have opportunities to create crafts, enjoy activities and play literacy games that support the theme of the book. This class will help lay the groundwork for a love of reading by participating in read-alouds of Knuffle Bunny and Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus and more! This is a non-separating class. Ages 2-5 years as of the class start date.

Tantalizing Thai Cuisine (Participation Class)

You’ll begin by preparing Vietnamese summer rolls (fresh) served with both hoisin and peanut sauce for dipping. Included are Vietnamese spring rolls (fried) with pork, turkey, and glass noodles stuffed in rice paper and fried crisp and golden. You'll then prepare Pad Thai blending the vibrant flavors of Thailand with rice noodles, breast of chicken, eggs, chilies, garlic, basil, scallions, bean sprouts, and more. For dessert, Thai lime custard topped with fresh whipped cream. Please note: this class is non-refundable in the event of weather cancellations. The Art of Aging Well: Peel Years off Your Biological Age (Online Class)

Your chronological age is the number of years you have been alive and it is a fixed number and cannot be changed. Your biological or body age, however, is measured by how well all of your organs and body systems work and there are many things you can do to affect your biological age. You have more control over how your body ages than you may think. Research has shown us that you can peel years off your bio age. In this workshop, you will learn simple, scientifically proven things you can do right now to decrease your body age. Also, you will learn facial acupressure points to help erase years from your face naturally by increasing muscle tone, decreasing puffiness and eye bag. Reduce lines and prevent new lines from forming. Help yourself look better, feel younger and age with health and vigor. Registration for all class sessions closes 3 days before the start date. Tomatoes are one of the most popular garden vegetables. (Actually, it's a fruit!) Learn the best practices to grow and care for these beloved plants to increase your harvest and avoid common mistakes.
