Gardens can be grown anywhere. Come and learn the basics of designing, selecting plants and pots, and caring for container gardens for season-long satisfaction, no matter where you grow. This class is offered by the U of M Extension Master Gardener volunteers of Ramsey County, who are eager to share research-based gardening best practices with the people in their community. *Please note: this class will be held at the U of M, Ramsey County Extension Office located at 2020 White Bear Ave., Maplewood, MN 55109 Registration for all class sessions closes 3 days before the start date. Join us for a relaxing and sensory experience where you'll mold your own bath bombs and mix your own exfoliating body scrub. These bath bombs are a citrus basil fragrance and the sugar based body scrub is a lightly scented pink grapefruit. You'll leave this workshop with an 8oz jar of sugar scrub, 3 large bath bombs plus reusable molds and recipes. $10 supply fee payable to instructor the night of class. Dive into the vibrant world of glass mosaics in this engaging class! While it may seem difficult, you’ll discover how enjoyable and accessible this art form can be as you create your very own mosaic suncatcher or candle lantern. Start by exploring our idea book, browsing a variety of patterns and stencils, and choosing from an array of precut glass in countless colors. The first session is all about hands-on creativity—get ready to have fun and unleash your artistic side! Please note that there may be some homework assigned. Squeeze away stress and feel calm anytime! In this hands-on wellness activity, students will create their own squishy stress balls using simple materials like flour, rice, or play dough. These stress balls are great tools for calming down, focusing, or managing big emotions—and they’re fun to make too!

Embark on an adventure of epic proportions in a snowy, mystical realm! In this imaginative and interactive course, students will create their very own Dungeons & Dragons character. Once their heroes are ready, they’ll dive into a frosty-themed campaign filled with magical creatures, ancient secrets, and daring challenges. No prior D&D experience needed, just a vivid imagination and a spirit for adventure!

We will focus on quality time playing with our children in this class for dads and father figures. We'll have fun playing, creating and enjoying time with our kids. Explore the joys and challenges of being a dad and learn from other dads during parent discussion. This is a separating class. Ages birth-5 years as of class start date.

Are you ready to get your groove on? Our Dance Party is all about getting active, shaking off stress, and celebrating the joy of movement. Students will groove to fun, age-appropriate music while building coordination, confidence, and a sense of community

In this workshop, you’ll receive guidance from an experienced garden instructor - from evaluating your yard or porch space to selecting the right plants and materials. You'll learn how to plan your garden layout, explore organic fertilizers and other essential materials, and gain the confidence to begin your gardening journey. Join us for Disco Splash! Dance your heart out with our fun, high intensity aerobics class! Participants will do a combination of dance and water exercise while utilizing both shallow and deep water. Participants must pre-register online/over the phone or at the door This is a high impact exercise class that will have loud music playing in the background. Course is not recommended for those with limited mobility or joint issues and participants must be able to maintain balance without assistance for the duration of class.

The foundation for a successful artwork is a good drawing. In this class the students will explore the principals of transforming three dimensional objects into two dimensional shapes. We will also explore the art of shading, perspective and other drawing systems. Please see supply list for class below. Roseville Area Schools Community Education is in partnership with Safeway Driving School to offer Driver's Education classes. Safeway has been graduating safe teen drivers in the Twin Cities area for over 50 years. Safeway’s only focus is creating safe, responsible teen drivers. Classroom and behind-the-wheel lessons emphasize defensive driving techniques tailored for the inexperienced teen driver while targeting to influence the invincible teen attitude. All of Safeway’s instructors are licensed by the Minnesota Dept. of Public Safety. (Must be under the age of 18.) Classroom instruction prepares the student to take the Minnesota permit test and begin the responsibility of driving. The 30 hours of classroom is structured into 10 independent lessons. Students can take the class at age 14 but cannot take their permit test until age 15. After class is completed, students who are 15 years old are eligible to take their permit test. The permit test is not provided during the class. Classroom materials and the MN Driver’s Manual will be given to students when they arrive for class. Parents/guardians will be required to complete Safeway’s Account Verification. Safeway will be sending out an email before class begins that gives detailed information about how to login to the student’s Safeway account to verify and complete contact information and to review and acknowledge the Service Agreement. Behind-the-wheel instruction includes six hours of driving in three, two-hour private lessons. All driving is done in a Safeway car on city streets, highways and freeways with a responsible, licensed Safeway instructor. Students have one year after completing classroom to finish their behind-the-wheel lessons. Safeway’s website has a description of the curriculum and scheduling information. Parent involvement is required to produce safe, responsible teen drivers. It is critical that parents practice regularly with their student drivers. The state requires that students have a minimum of 50 hours of practice (15 hours at night). The practice time must be recorded on a state-approved Supervised Driving Log and presented at the road test. Parent Classes are offered monthly. This class is not required but qualifies the parent to receive a certificate that allows their student reduced practice time (from 50 to 40 hours). Parents can sign up for a Parent Class on Safeway’s website. At a minimum, Safeway strongly encourages parents to review its parent information and watch the online Parent Class Videos at www.safewaydrivingschool.com. Cost of the teen package is $439 and includes the classroom and behind-the-wheel lessons. Learn about airspace and weather considerations, flight authorizations, planning and preparation, image and video capture techniques, composition, and post-flight editing. Curious about drones? This beginner-friendly class introduces you to the exciting world of aerial drones, also known as small unmanned aerial vehicles (sUAVs) or systems (sUAS). You'll learn: The wide range of drone uses—from recreation to commercial applications Types of drones, including DIY builds, FPV (first-person view), and ready-to-fly camera kits How to choose the right drone for your needs Where, when, and how to fly safely and legally Key airspace rules, FAA regulations, and practical safety tips An overview of drone registration, certification, and the FAA TRUST (Recreational UAS Safety Test) Weather permitting, a live drone demonstration will be included.
