This course focuses on water skills for children ages 3 to 5 that are ready to swim on their own! Students will build on their water skills and grow their independence. Promoting water safety from a young age will help to keep your child safe as they become more self-confident and believe in their abilities. Skills taught: Enter & Exit water from side Blow bubbles with nose (humming) Bobbing Front float for 3+ seconds Back float for 3+ seconds Jelly fish float for 3+ seconds Roll from back to front Roll from front to back Front glide (one body length) Back glide (one body length) “Scooping” and kicking on front 5 feet Flutter kicking on back 5 feet Elementary backstroke arms 5 feet (w/ support) Swim, Float, Swim 10 feet (w/ support) Jump in (w/ support) Follows Directions Water Safety Skills Note: Students who are still working on potty training MUST wear appropriate swim diapers and plastic covers. Students will be turned away if not wearing the appropriate swim diapers/covers.Parents MUST remain in the building during lessons and should stay within eyesight of the pool for quick contact if needed.

Roseville Winter Open Chess Tournament
Elementary and secondary chess players are invited to participate in the "Roseville Winter Open". Whether you participated in a chess club or not in the fall, you are invited to compete in this short, fun tournament. Time controls will be used when necessary to keep the tournament within time constraints. The format and recognitions will be based on the number of registered participants in each grade level and school. Pre-registration is encouraged, but walk-ins will be accepted. Tournament etiquette and procedures will be explained at the event for players new to tournament play. Players are not eliminated. Everyone plays in each round unless there is a bye because of an odd number of participants. Typically there are 4-5 rounds. A great way to gain experience for your In-Club Spring Tournament & the Regional Open Tournament at the end of the season.Concessions Available: Donuts & Snack Items, cash onlyFormat & Awards Based on Grade Level, School, & Number of Participants (K-2nd, 3rd-4th, 5th-6th, Secondary)Participants: Roseville Students K-12th Grade. Roseville Dance Team Kids Clinic
Health and Wellness
Come dance with the Roseville Dance Team! Open to boys and girls ages 3 -12. Come learn new dance skills and two fun routines in which you will perform alongside RDT in our annual winter show. Participants will be provided snack/lunch during the clinic as well as a t-shirt that they can keep and will wear for the winter show performance. Check in 10-10:30am at RAHS lower gym lobby, Clinic starts at 10:30am-12:30pm. Participants will stay with the dance team, then perform in the Roseville Dance Team Winter Show of which doors open at 12:30pm and the show begins at 1:00pm. The show should last 90-120 minutes. **PLEASE NOTE: All Registrations after 1/9 will not receive a T-Shirt

Calling all young princes and princesses! Your favorite fairytale princesses are throwing a Royal Ball, and you're invited! Join us for a magical afternoon with the famous lily pad princess from New Orleans and the golden-haired tower princess. General Admission Tickets Include: Event admission Character performances Plenty of personal interaction with Tower Princess and Lily Pad Princess Character-led activities Royal dance lessons Craft provided by Roseville Community Education Sing-along Multiple photo opportunities Dance time alongside the princesses Children’s costume parade A day full of memories and fun! VIP Tickets Include: Early admission (45 minutes prior to the event) A royal makeover by our Raider Royal Fairies (hair, face paint/makeup, nails) A royal goody bag A formal invitation to be sent to your little prince or princess after purchase of tickets! VIP is for children only; parents/guardians should accompany their child but only need to purchase a general admission ticket. Children are welcome to wear their favorite princess dresses, costumes, and/or royal ball attire (adults are welcome to dress their best, but for the safety of our young guests, no adult costumes are allowed for non-cast members). _________________________________________________________________ All guests (including parent or guardian) need a ticket to attend (infants under the age of one excepted). Tickets are transferable but nonrefundable. Children must be accompanied by an adult guest at all times, and all adults in attendance must have at least one child in their party. Pandemic Precautions: All our cast are fully vaccinated. If case rates are assessed as "high" by CDC county check in Ramsey County the week before, then characters may mask and/or distance for various portions of the event. Purchasing a ticket gives permission for Occasions with Character & Roseville Area Schools Community Education to potentially publish photos and video of your party on social media and use for promotional purposes. Seed Mosaics: A Great Minnesotan Tradition

Every year the Minnesota State Fair showcases seed mosaics created by artists all over the state. In our seed mosaic workshop, participants will continue this great tradition by creating their own works of seed art. Participants will learn about the history and techniques of mosaic art and create a design of their own. Once completed, participants will share their designs with their fellow seed artists and share this Minnesotan art form with their family and friends! Sewing: Beginning Apparel
Art
Build on your sewing skills and learn how to read and use a pattern to create a garment of your choice in class. Classes consist of group instruction and demonstrations to further explore terms, techniques, and materials as well as time to work on your own project with instructor guidance. Week 1, bring sewing machine and basic supplies.Week 2, students will meet at a local fabric store. Week 3-6, bring sewing machine, supplies, and project materials. Students should be comfortable threading and using their sewing machine. *Under age 18 must be enrolled with an adult. Supplies Needed: sewing machine in good working order with bobbin standard/universal needles thread scissors tape measure pins ruler/ seam gauge seam ripper fabric marking pen or pencil project materials - please budget $25-$50 for pattern, fabric, and notions for your class project. Sewing: Intermediate Apparel; Knits
Art
Have you felt intimidated or scared to sew with knit fabrics? Or been frustrated when you’ve tried? We’ll demystify knits and eliminate frustrations and sew a garment of your choice in class that you’ll wear with pride. Students should be comfortable with machine sewing and familiar working with and reading patterns. Week 1, bring sewing machine and basic supplies. Week 2-6, bring sewing machine, supplies, and project materials. Use shrink plastic to create beautiful pieces of art! Students will be making all kinds of shrinky dink art and crafts such as keychains, jewelry, self portraits, favorite characters, and more.
