Raider Puzzle Palooza
Calling all jigsaw puzzle enthusiasts! Come join us for our jigsaw puzzle competition! Sign up with family or friends and see how fast you can connect the pieces. Each team will put together the same 500-piece puzzle. Sign up for one of two competition categories: Adult: For teams of up to four adults/children over the age of 13. At least one team member must be 18+. Family: For teams of up to four, including at least one child under the age of 13. At least one adult must also be on all teams in this division. Teams may contain between 2 and 4 members. The use of puzzle sorting trays is not allowed. Registration fees are per household, and include the puzzle. Prizes will be awarded! Ages 5-AdultRegistration: The cost to register is $45 per team. Only one participant needs to register for their whole team. When prompted to "choose attendee" only select the team captain who is registering. The registering participant will be asked for the other team member's names later during the check-out process. Your team may compete with less than four members, however you will still be competing against full teams. Check-in will begin at 12:30pm and the competition will start at 1:00pm. Light refreshments and snacks will be available for purchase (cash or credit card accepted). There will be a puzzle swap table at the event. Roseville Dance Team Kids Clinic
Come dance with the Roseville Dance Team! Open to boys and girls ages 3 -12. Come learn new dance skills and two fun routines in which you will perform alongside RDT in our annual winter show. Participants will be provided snack/lunch during the clinic as well as a t-shirt that they can keep and will wear for the winter show performance. Check in 10-10:30am at RAHS lower gym lobby, Clinic starts at 10:30am-12:30pm. Participants will stay with the dance team, then perform in the Roseville Dance Team Winter Show of which doors open at 12:30pm and the show begins at 1:00pm. The show should last 90-120 minutes.**PLEASE NOTE: All Registrations after 1/9 will not receive a T-Shirt

Mandala Rock Art

Mandala on Coaster
Art
A Mandala Coasters class focuses on creating intricate and artistic designs inspired by the traditional mandala patterns, commonly representing harmony and balance. Participants will learn how to draw or paint mandala patterns, often starting from a central point and expanding outwards with geometric shapes and symbols. The class may cover various techniques using dotting tools and acrylic paints. Take home two beautiful hand-made coasters. Supply fee $10 due on the day of class. Nuno Felted Scarf

Learn a contemporary twist on the traditional art of feltmaking. Combine silk fabric and soft wool fibers for a lightweight scarf you can wear any time of year. Explore a variety of surface design techniques and create a one-of-a-kind accessory. Some physical stamina needed for felting classes. $30 supply fee, payable to instructor, includes a hand dyed silk scarf, all fibers and supplies. Pet Portrait Painting

Join us to create a stunning portrait of your beloved pet! Each furry companion will be hand-drawn on a 16 x 20 canvas, ready for you to bring to life with the help of a professional artist. All materials are provided, making this a wonderful opportunity to craft a heartfelt gift for yourself or someone special. Please note: One pet per person/canvas. After registering, be sure to email a high-quality JPEG photo of your pet to the instructor at least one week before the class begins. Email address provided upon registering.

Seed Mosaics: A Great Minnesotan Tradition

Every year the Minnesota State Fair showcases seed mosaics created by artists all over the state. In our seed mosaic workshop, participants will continue this great tradition by creating their own works of seed art. Participants will learn about the history and techniques of mosaic art and create a design of their own. Once completed, participants will share their designs with their fellow seed artists and share this Minnesotan art form with their family and friends! Sewing: Beginning Apparel
Art
Build on your sewing skills and learn how to read and use a pattern to create a garment of your choice in class. Classes consist of group instruction and demonstrations to further explore terms, techniques, and materials as well as time to work on your own project with instructor guidance. Week 1, bring sewing machine and basic supplies.Week 2, students will meet at a local fabric store. Week 3-6, bring sewing machine, supplies, and project materials. Students should be comfortable threading and using their sewing machine. *Under age 18 must be enrolled with an adult. Supplies Needed: sewing machine in good working order with bobbin standard/universal needles thread scissors tape measure pins ruler/ seam gauge seam ripper fabric marking pen or pencil project materials - please budget $25-$50 for pattern, fabric, and notions for your class project. Students who have completed the Introduction, Beginning, or Intermediate sewing classes will receive instructor support, guidance, and extra help with challenging techniques, pattern instructions, or finishing an already started project. Sewing: Intermediate Apparel; Knits
Art
Have you felt intimidated or scared to sew with knit fabrics? Or been frustrated when you’ve tried? We’ll demystify knits and eliminate frustrations and sew a garment of your choice in class that you’ll wear with pride. Students should be comfortable with machine sewing and familiar working with and reading patterns. Week 1, bring sewing machine and basic supplies. Week 2-6, bring sewing machine, supplies, and project materials. Int Apparel Sewing Supply List: Sewing machine in good working order with bobbin -must have zigzag stitch function Knit fabric to practice on and test stitches (can be yardage, fabric scraps, an old t-shirt, etc) One package assorted size Ballpoint needles Thread Scissors Pins Ruler or seam gauge Tape measure Fabric marking pen or pencil Seam ripper Please budget $25-$50 for pattern, fabric, and notions for your class project - selections will be made after first class. Spring Basket
Art
Encourage the creative side of you by weaving this authentic wicker basket. Starting with a drilled wooden base, round reed is used for the spokes. The sides are woven up using very narrow dyed reed. You may choose from a wide variety of colors, both pastels and variegated tones. The rim is finished with a unique woven braid. All supplies and tools will be provided by instructor. The finished size is approximately 9" long, 6" wide, and 5" high. Perfect for so many uses. Supply fee: $20 payable to instructor the night of class. Watercolor Painting - Intermediate

If you have some experience with watercolor, join this class to develop your skills. Please note that this is not a beginner class. Some skills you should have before taking this class are knowing the wetness and dryness of the media, how to mix basic colors, and understanding basic perspective principals. You will learn techniques, see demonstrations, receive guided instruction, and participate in a class critique. Each week we will work on a different topic. Purchase a copy of John Shaw and Ferdinand Petrie's "The Big Book of Painting Nature in Watercolor" prior to class. Materials Needed: Pad of 140 lb watercolor paper 11x15 (this can be Strathmore or Arches - avoid Canson paper - do not get a block of paper, this is too expensive) Board to put them on 1 multi-compartment palette or tray 1 roll of better quality paper towels 1 #2 pencil 1 art gum eraser 1 roll of masking tape 1 bottle mask-off any color 1 lightweight pair of scissors 1 ruler at least 18 inches long Graphite copy paper 1 set of good quality tube-style watercolors. Set should include a crimson red (naphthol or alizarin), cadmium red light, ultramarine, cadmium yellow, lemon yellow, raw sienna, purple or violet, sap green or olive green, payne's grey, and cerulean blue. Some colors may need to be purchased separately. Brushes - Size 10 and 12 round brush, 1 flat brush size 1/4" or 1/2" wide, and 1 large brush 3/4" or wider A cup for water Optional: a small misting bottle (an old hairspray bottle works well) Registration for all class sessions closes 3 days before the start date.
