Mending


Adult Enrichment / Art -
Summer 2025

Repair and extend the life of your clothing by learning basic mending techniques, including patching tears and holes, fixing ripped seams, sewing on a button, and hemming. Week 2, bring your own mending project to work on, including supplies. Students should have basic hand sewing skills.

Mending Supply List:

  • woven fabric scraps for practicing, any size/shape
  • one or two buttons, any kind
  • hand sewing needle
  • thread
  • scissors
  • mending project and related materials and equipment (bring to second class) 

Registration for all class sessions closes 3 days before the start date.

Late Registration: If you miss the deadline but are still interested, you can contact the Community Ed office by emailing us at CommunityEd@isd623.org or calling: 651-604-3770. Space may be limited, but we'll try our best to accommodate late registrations.

Mary Pass

Mary started sewing from store bought patterns in 1999 and almost immediately began adapting them to fit her wants and ideas for how they should be. She kept that passion for designing and working with her hands and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Clothing Design. Mary enjoys making and creating all types of things and continues to design and create clothing and accessories and has participated in several art and craft fairs and fashion shows.
