In this class we will take an in-depth review of many issues (and problems) that may be faced from our parents estate plan (or lack thereof) such as: creating a difficult Probate, loss of assets to the Nursing Home, fighting amongst the children, senior care issues, guardianship, privacy, the continued life of the surviving parent, estate tax protection, fairness and equality, legacy assets and the flow of critical information between the generations. With our 30 years of experience, we will discuss actual Minnesota examples of all of the above challenges and how they can be avoided in advance with some simple planning and exchange of information. Always dreamed of learning Spanish or refreshing your high school Spanish? Then this class is for you! The primary focus of the class will be on building conversational tools in Spanish through interactive practice and exercises. Vocabulary topics will include common greetings and introductions, pronunciation, numbers, food, clothing, likes and dislikes. Grammar topics will include subject pronouns, the verb estar conjugation, gender of nouns, and plurality. Participants will learn how to carry on small conversations in Spanish and each class will include interesting cultural anecdotes including Spanish word origin, dialect differences, and names in Spanish. Participants will continue with practical conversational components and builder phrases in Spanish enabling them to carry on small conversations related to giving and asking for directions and restaurant conversation. Real life scenarios will be introduced and role played in Spanish to ensure a dynamic and interactive learning environment. Intermediate Spanish is specifically designed for the adult learner who has taken some Spanish in the past but wishes to improve conversational skills. Grammar and vocabulary concepts will include present tense AR verb conjugation, infinitive verbs, future tense with the verb IR, adverbs of frequency, useful prepositions, and more. Using an Air Fryer to cook vegetables is quick—and the healthy results are delicious! In this live online class Kirsten will demonstrate a variety of recipes using in-season local and/or commonly available vegetables including Lemon Pepper Broccoli, Miso Sesame Kale Chips, and Roasted Sweet Potato Sticks. Have you ever wanted to try your hand at Abstract Art that is fun and Colorful? Alcohol Ink (AI) is a new painting technique that just screams ABSTRACT. With so many different techniques, AI will soon become a favorite medium. To make hydrangeas, you will paint using a silicone tool and AI in a palette. First, you will outline your hydrangeas to form the base. Then you will fill in the petals of each flower highlighting with white alcohol ink to create depth. To finish your painting, you will add flowing stems/leaves. Your instructor will help guide you through each step. You will have the opportunity to paint hydrangeas on a white or black background. If time permits, you can paint a second picture on the opposite color. Best part of using Alcohol Ink is if you don’t like a part of your picture, you can wipe it off with ISO alcohol. Join this class, to make 4 beautiful Alcohol Ink (AI) glass Glitter Ornaments After prepping the ornaments, the instructor will discuss and demo various processes of working with AI. In this class, you will create 25 all-occasion cards (five cards of five different designs). All materials will be cut and ready for you to stamp and assemble. Materials, envelopes and tools for you to create all 25 cards are included with registration. However, participants WILL NEED to bring their own adhesive (double stick tape, tape runner, glue stick) which can be found at most craft stores, or I will have some available for purchase the night of class. THREE OPTIONS AVAILABLE: CPR/AED Only (9:00 AM - 11:30 AM): This CPR/AED class gives individuals the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care for breathing and cardiac emergencies until advanced medical personnel arrive. This American Red Cross course certifies individuals in CPR/AED for adults, children and infants is nationally recognized and valid for two years. First Aid Only (11:30 AM - 2:30 PM): First Aid covers any emergency that does not require the use of CPR. Topics covered in this American Red Cross course include recognition and treatment for heart attacks, stroke, diabetic emergencies, allergic reactions as well as first aid treatments to wounds, fractures, burns and other common injuries. CPR/AED/First Aid (9:00 AM - 2:30 PM): This class combines CPR, AED and First Aid Training into one convenient session. Lay Responder CPR/AED with First Aid teaches the skills necessary to recognize and provide immediate care for breathing problems, cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until medical personnel arrive. Participants will be certified by the American Red Cross for: Standard First Aid and CPR/AED for adults, children and infants. This course meets the Rule 2 and 3 requirements for childcare providers. Intended Audience: Teachers, Daycare Providers, Coaches, Office Workers, new parents, or anyone who wants or needs to learn the life-saving skills of CPR and are not a healthcare professional (healthcare professionals are required to take the more advanced BLS Healthcare Provider CPR course).
