While in lab you'll connect with other students by participating in vocabulary review, immersive activities, group practice and role-play scenarios designed to reinforce and solidify your learning; enhancing your signing abilities and developing confidence. We'll empower each other through the beautiful and expressive world of American Sign Language.

Serving as foundational practice and as a refresher to returning students, this lab will build upon the skills you’ve acquired during Beginner ASL 3 & 4. Boost your confidence in both receptive and expressive skills making your communications more fluid and natural. Prerequisite: Beginner ASL 4

¿Quieres mejorar tu Español? Then this is the course for you! This advanced course is for students who have had previous Spanish classes and are looking to take their skills to the next level. Advanced Spanish will focus on the past tense (preterite and imperfect tenses) and more complex grammatical aspects of conversation including verb tenses and conjugations. Students will learn to express things they’ve done in the past in Spanish as well as broaden their conversational skills. Applicable to new students and previous Intermediate Spanish conversation participants.

Always dreamed of learning Spanish or refreshing your high school Spanish? Then this class is for you! The primary focus of the class will be on building conversational tools in Spanish through interactive practice and exercises. Vocabulary topics will include common greetings and introductions, pronunciation, numbers, food, clothing, likes and dislikes. Grammar topics will include subject pronouns, the verb estar conjugation, gender of nouns, and plurality. Participants will learn how to carry on small conversations in Spanish and each class will include interesting cultural anecdotes including Spanish word origin, dialect differences, and names in Spanish. Ability to access zoom and basic working computer knowledge essential.

Learning a language is a lifelong journey and now you are on your way! Keep up the momentum in Beginner Spanish Part Two. Participants will continue with practical conversational components and builder phrases in Spanish enabling them to carry on small conversations related to giving and asking for directions and restaurant conversation. Vocabulary and grammar components will include weather, seasons, dates with months, days of the week, family vocabulary along with the verbs ser and tener conjugations. Culture discussions will include the importance of food, family, and friendships in Spanish speaking countries. Applicable to new students and previous Beginner Part 1 Spanish conversation participants. Ability to access zoom and basic working computer knowledge essential.

Intermediate Spanish is specifically designed for the adult learner who has taken some Spanish in the past but wishes to improve conversational skills. Grammar and vocabulary concepts will include present tense AR verb conjugation, infinitive verbs, future tense with the verb IR, adverbs of frequency, useful prepositions, and more. Participants will practice conversation skills including learning how to make plans and discussing preferences in Spanish. Culture discussions will cover holiday traditions and celebrations in Spanish speaking countries. Like all Futura classes, a dynamic interactive approach will be used to keep the class fun and exciting! Applicable to new students and previous Beginner Spanish Part 1 and 2 conversation participants. Ability to access zoom and basic working computer knowledge essential.

Participants learn basic conversation skills to get around a Spanish-speaking country with greater ease. This class will include helpful dialogue, greetings, how to barter at a market and order in a restaurant, and how to ask for simple directions. Each class will include a travel related theme to practice real world Spanish! Like all Futura classes, a dynamic and interactive approach will be used to keep the class fun and exciting! Applicable to new students and previous Spanish conversation participants.

Get ready to level up your air frying skills as Kirsten’s demonstration takes you on a journey through the ins and outs of air fryer cooking, showing you how to create a wide variety of dishes without turning on your stove. You’ll learn how to whip up delicious and healthy meals like Tandoori Salmon & Potatoes and Basque Style Cheesecake in no time. Whether you’re an omnivore, a veggie fanatic, or a dessert enthusiast there are recipes for everyone. This two part live class will be recorded so you can revisit the lesson on demand.

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at Abstract Art that is fun and Colorful? Alcohol Ink (AI) is a new painting technique that just screams ABSTRACT. First, you will create an outline of a vase in any shape you want. Then you will use AI ink with your choice of colors to fill in the vase. Use your imagination! Then you will create the funky flowers by putting down drop of any AI color and blowing it out with an airbrush. You will be laughing at how the different color combination create a unique look. Best part – if you don’t like a part of your picture, you can wipe it off with ISO alcohol. You will use markers to create stems and leaves. Once your flower picture is complete, you can make a second picture or play on your own. Your instructor will have ideas. $15 supply fee payable to instructor the night of class.

Alcohol Ink (AI) is a new painting technique that just screams ABSTRACT. With so many different techniques, AI will soon become a favorite medium. To make this beautiful picture, you will put down your choice of colors to make the background. Then you will create flowers using a hand blower. Your instructor will help guide you through each step. You will make one 8” x 11” painting in your chosen colors. Given time, you can create a 2nd painting with variations. Just come to have fun and enjoy yourself. Best part of using Alcohol Ink is if you don’t like a part of your picture, you can wipe it off with ISO alcohol. $15 supply fee payable to instructor the night of class.

Imagine making a one-of-a-kind abstract fish for your home. Alcohol Ink (AI) is a new painting technique that just screams ABSTRACT. After creating the outline of the fish, you will choose your AI colors to fill in the body, tail and of course, the lips. Spreading the alcohol ink is so fun. After the basic fish is completed, you will use markers to doodle and really make your fish come alive! You will have the choice of making a 2nd fish or use your new skills to make doodle flowers. $15 supply fee payable to instructor the night of class.

Do you want to make gorgeous one-of-a-kind ornaments for your tree or as an incredible gift? Join this class, to make 4 beautiful Alcohol Ink (AI) glass Glitter Ornaments After prepping the ornaments, the instructor will discuss and demo various processes of working with AI. Then you will pick colors of your choice to create unique ornament for yourself or as a gift. Note: Each ornament can reflect the same color scheme or each ornament can be a different color scheme. Totally your choice! The ornaments are painted on the inside so the colors will last forever. Supply fee payable to instructor the night of class: $20. Note: Additional ornaments can be made for a fee of $4 per ornament.

In this class we will be creating 25 all occasion cards, featuring five unique designs with five cards each. All tools and materials, including envelopes, will be provided. You’ll create 25 beautiful cards suitable for various occasions such as sympathy, gratitude, birthdays, expressions of care, or customizable blank cards for your personal sentiments. Participants will need to bring their own adhesive, or I will have some to purchase on the night of class.

THREE OPTIONS AVAILABLE: CPR/AED Only (9:00 AM - 11:30 AM): This CPR/AED class gives individuals the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care for breathing and cardiac emergencies until advanced medical personnel arrive. This American Heart Association course certifies individuals in CPR/AED for adults, children and infants is nationally recognized and valid for two years. First Aid Only (11:30 AM - 2:30 PM): First Aid covers any emergency that does not require the use of CPR. Topics covered in this American Heart Association course include recognition and treatment for heart attacks, stroke, diabetic emergencies, allergic reactions as well as first aid treatments to wounds, fractures, burns and other common injuries. CPR/AED/First Aid (9:00 AM - 2:30 PM): This class combines CPR, AED and First Aid Training into one convenient session. Lay Responder CPR/AED with First Aid teaches the skills necessary to recognize and provide immediate care for breathing problems, cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until medical personnel arrive. Participants will be certified by the American Heart Association for: Standard First Aid and CPR/AED for adults, children and infants. This course meets the Rule 2 and 3 requirements for childcare providers. Intended Audience: Teachers, Daycare Providers, Coaches, Office Workers, new parents, or anyone who wants or needs to learn the life-saving skills of CPR and are not a healthcare professional (healthcare professionals are required to take the more advanced BLS Healthcare Provider CPR course). Feel free to bring a lunch or snack.

You'll begin by preparing delicious egg rolls stuffed with pork, shrimp and vegetables served with both hot mustard and sweet and sour sauce for dipping. You'll then prepare fried rice using chicken, shrimp, fresh vegetables, and the secret sauce. Classic pork chow mein follows served with crispy egg noodles along with egg foo young made with both, chicken and shrimp. We’ll finish this extravaganza with a delightful lemon custard tort. This class is non-refundable in the event of weather cancelations.
