Holiday Gift “Cold Process” Beginning Soap Making
Are you interested in learning a new hobby? Come and join the holiday fun! Make your own crafted holiday soaps and surprise for friends and family with some special holiday gifts! You will learn the cold making process. All of the materials will be supplied by instructor. At the end of class, you will have a completely holiday handmade batch of 6-8 bars of soap to use as gifts or for yourself! The soaps will take 4-6 weeks to “cure” and will be ready just in time for holiday gifts!$15.00 will be paid directly to the instructor for supplies.

Online registration is available until 4:00 p.m. the day prior to session. Schedules will be posted weekly. *Preregistration required. Limit of 24 participants.Current Schedule: Mondays & Wednesdays, 7:30 - 9:30 PM OPEN PICKLEBALL (No Instructor)Pickleball is a fun and popular game that is a combination of several classic games - badminton, tennis and table tennis! It is easy for beginners of all ages to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced game for experienced players. People of all ages and athletic abilities will find that pickleball is an enjoyable sport with straightforward rules. Open play means that all players of any skill level are invited to play on the courts. Players rotate in and out of games to ensure everyone has the opportunity to play. Bring your own paddle, game balls and nets are provided (limited number of extra paddles available). 3 courts available for play. Follow the pickleball rules and guidelines stated in the USAPA rulebook. Court shoes must be worn. Open to ages 18+. No refunds will be issued for non-attendance. Fees are non-transferable and cannot be applied to another day. Be courteous of all skill levels and enjoy playing! No reserved courts.

Colorful Glass Mosaic Table Lamp or Window
Art
Create a custom, colorful table lamp or window in 2 fun evenings! Using precut glass and some creativity, you will cover a 4”x 9” or 8” x 8” lamp or 20”x25” four pane window. Stencils will be available or you can use your creativity to make a beautiful work of art. The first night is dedicated to working on your project, having fun, and discovering your creative side. The second night is using grout, so bring some old towels. After your project is finished, you will learn about glass cutting, mosaic resources, other types of mosaics. This workshop is for you if you would like to shift out of anxiety and a threat mindset and find science-based tools to consistently adopt a growth mindset as you face daily challenges. FallProof! Workshop

The ability to improve your balance and reduce fall risks is in your hands. And it is never too late. Mia Bremer is a Master Balance and Mobility Specialist who teaches FallProof! This program was developed at the Center for Successful Aging at California State Fullerton where Mia has taught the program to professionals across the country. This workshop will teach you why our risk for falling increases as we age, as well as exercises and strategies we can use to reduce those risks. This is an interactive workshop – you will be practicing skills and taking home useful information that can save you from a trip to the floor. You will also learn what to do if you end up there!

Feet First - Start at the Bottom If You Want to Feel Tip-Top

This class is about more than foot care. It’s about feet mechanics, as a way of travel, as the first defense in balance and fall prevention and, sometimes, as the source of pain and frustration. Mia Bremer is a fitness specialist who specializes in older adult fitness. She will talk about, and let you feel and notice, how exercise, myofascial release, foot massage techniques and even the shoes you choose can all alter the way you walk and comfort in which you do it.

Felted Luminarias

Add a warm glow to the holiday season with pretty, felted luminarias. Learn traditional wet felting techniques using wool and a little soapy water. Add texture and other design elements using a variety of natural materials. Your luminarias are the perfect accent for the mantle, dinner table, or any spot that needs a little soft illumination. $30 materials fee, payable to instructor, includes all fibers and supplies for 2 luminarias. Bring from home: 2-3 hand towels, 1 old bath towel, sharp scissors and a plastic bag to carry home wet items. Optional: apron.

Felt a simple tulip-shaped vessel without using a resist! The secret to the shape is the direction you lay your wool and the number of layers. Fascinating! Learn the basics of differential shrinkage in this fun new class. Previous felting experience optional. You don’t even have to know what a resist is! Ages 6 to 106 Classical fencing emphasizes the practice of the sword as an art, a science, and a recreational activity. Learn the basics of fencing with minimal rules and lots of play. In this class we will learn the answers to: What are the roles and responsibilities of these people? How long do they serve and how much of a time commitment are we asking? How much guidance can we give them? Who makes an ideal selection for each of these vastly different roles? Who makes a bad selection for these roles? What pitfalls and problems should we be aware of? Each of these jobs: Attorney-In-Fact, Health Care Agent, Estate Executor, Trustee and Guardian are vastly different jobs that benefit you and they deserve careful thought. This class encourages questions. We will provide the answers.
