Ceramics Wheel Throwing
Learn the basics of creating pottery on the wheel. This class is designed for the beginner as well as individuals who wish to continue developing their skills on the potter’s wheel. Each class will include a demonstration and independent work time. The instructor will assist you with developing basic throwing skills as well as advanced techniques. Participants will learn how to create cylinders, bowls, vases, mugs, and more. This is a great class to learn at your own pace and have fun. No class on September 23 or November 4. Pick up date: December 2.Supply fee of $25 payable to the instructor. Once you have registered for the class, you can choose which way you want to participate. Each day you will receive an email with the link for the Zoom class so you can choose to come in-person, or dance in your living room! All in-person Jazzercise classes are held at Aŋpétu Téča Education Center, 1910 County Rd B W, Roseville. Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays: Cardio SculptA high intensity 60 minute mix of dance-based cardio and strength training for a calorie-crushing total body workout. Not only will you rock it to fresh pulse-pounding music, we also target the 3 major muscle groups – upper body, abs and legs – so, you’ll feel it where you need it!Tuesdays: Sculpt60Sculpt60: A hardcore mix of standing and floor work targets the major muscle groups to build strength and carve your curves. Weights, tubes and natural resistance engage your muscles while red-hot playlists distract you from the burn.Wednesdays: Interval CardioSculptOur signature dance-based class format with a metabolism-boosting twist. Alternate between high and low intensity dance-based cardio intervals (HIIT) for 40 minutes followed by 20 minutes of strength training and stretch. This class will have you working at your maximum to burn calories long after class is over.Fridays: alternate between PowerSculpt45 and CardioSculpt45 PowerSculpt45: We pump up the power in this circuit-based 45 minute class to work every angle of your body. Focused muscle pumping sets will challenge your strength, and the amplified dance moves will crank up your cardio.CardioSculpt45: Our signature class format packed into 45 minutes. Set to your favorite top hits, this full-body workout combines high intensity, dance-based cardio with strength training and stretching. The perfect way to start your weekend.

Watercolor Painting: Intermediate
If you have some experience with watercolor, join this class to develop your skills. (Please note that this is not a beginner class. Look for my beginning classes in this catalog) Some skills you should have before taking this class are knowing the wetness and dryness of the media, how to mix basic colors, and understanding basic perspective principals. You will learn techniques, see demonstrations, receive guided instruction, and participate in one-on-one critiques. Expect to work on a variety of topics completing, at least, three paintings. Materials Needed: Sheets, Pad, or Block of 140 lb 11x15 watercolor paper (this can be Arches or other quality cold press paper that has a solid tooth; avoid Strathmore - Canson paper) Board to put them on 1 or more multi-compartment palettes or trays 1 roll of better-quality paper towels 1 #2 pencil 1 ivory eraser (Staedtler Mars Plastic) 1 roll of masking tape 1 bottle mask-off (masking fluid) any color 1 lightweight pair of scissors 1 ruler at least 18 inches long Tracing paper A cup for water Optional: a small misting bottle (an old hairspray bottle works well) Watercolor Paints: Assuming you have a palette of paints, you may not need to purchase more. Please email me if you have questions regarding your current palette of watercolor paint. Brushes: Assuming you have brushes, you may not need to purchase more. Watercolor Painting: Beginner II
This class is an extension of Beginning Watercolor I. In this class you will continue with beginning watercolor exercises that were learned in the Beginning I class. You can expect to complete 3-4 paintings. This class is open to any student that has taken the first beginning class from me and anyone who has a basic/general knowledge of watercolor painting. Supply list can be found here. Course Objective: Plan to experiment and explore the next level of traditional water color painting techniques – In this cases we will be continuing with the lessons from Beginning I class. This class is meant for those who have experience in watercolor painting. Our goal is to have at least 3 excellent paintings by the end of the session. Plan to have at least one group critique about mid way through the session. Please come prepared to discuss: what art is for you, what makes a good painting, why you want to be a painter, your interest, hobbies, and just all around conversations. Our first day: We will have brief introductions to include a discussion about our artistic styles. We will discuss what subjects we would like to paint, what specific painting style you would like to explore and other great insights that may arise. Watercolor Painting: Beginner I
Explore the wonder of watercolor painting by learning fundamentals and techniques of this exciting medium. This course is intended for the novice to beginner; you do not need prior experience to enroll in this class. There will be a set curriculum to help you understand and feel comfortable as you discover your artistic journey using watercolors. This 5 session course will begin with a few painting exercises and finish with two completed paintings. Supply list can be found here. Course Objective: Plan to experiment and explore the traditional water color painting techniques – In this case we will be studying the personality of watercolor. What makes the watercolor do what it wants to do? This class is for the first time painter or someone who has tried watercolor before but would like to get a better understanding of how it works. Our goal is to have at least one excellent painting by the end of the session. Plan to have group critiques and discussions throughout the session. Please come prepared to discuss: Your level of experience: Novice, Beginner, etc., what art is for you, what makes a good painting, why you want to be a painter, your interest, hobbies, and just all around conversations. Our first day: We will have brief introductions to include: a discussion about the questions above, why is it called watercolor and not colored water? Getting ready to paint, and dabbling in a few watercolor painting exercises. Please bring materials with you as stated above in the supply list.
