Almira has been part of the Midwest arts community for many years. Her watercolors and acrylic painting have been shown in various galleries throughout the Midwest as well as in Brazil. Almira's paintings are inspired by scenes and objects that she finds beautiful or interesting to reproduce on canvas. She prefers to draw and paint from location rather than photographs. Almira's style varies according to how she views the best way to depict the subject. She likes to be able to choose to paint realistically or in a more flowing impressionistic way. She believes an artist must allow the freedom to follow different approaches to one’s art, trying different media and subject matters. Almira finds enjoyment and gratification in the variety of work she does.
