  • Competitive Swim Camp

    The Roseville Competitive Summer Swim Camp is designed for students grades 6-12 who have competitive swim experience. Swimming experience may be from being on the Roseville High School Swim team or another program like a club swim team or the YMCA swim team. Every 1.5 hour practice includes 30 minutes of "dryland" and one hour in the pool. Dryland workouts focus on flexibility, strength and overall athleticism, while swim workouts will focus on endurance, technique and swimming speed. Participants should, at a minimum, be able to complete 100 yards of swimming in two minutes without a break and be able to do land activities like running, jumping, pushups and sit-ups safely. These sessions are a perfect opportunity for competitive swimmers who want to begin the high school season in shape or to bridge the gap between spring and fall sports. Swim Camp will be coached by Michael Richards, RAHS Boys Swimming and Diving Head Coach and Joe Anderson, RAHS Girls Swimming and Diving Head Coach. Students must be registered prior to arriving on the pool deck, payment and registration will not be accepted on the Parkview pool deck or at Parkview Center School.
  • Lifeguarding & Bloodborne Pathogens Blended Learning Certification

    Lifeguarding & Bloodborne Pathogens - Blended Learning The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding program is to train lifeguards to act with speed and confidence in emergency situations both in and out of the water. Topics include water rescue skills, surveillance, and recognition, first aid, breathing and cardiac emergencies, CPR, AED and more. Once certified, participants are able to work at facilities that have pools that have a depth of 5 feet of more. Certified lifeguards gain personal fulfillment while building build confidence by learning the importance of teamwork and leadership, being responsible and accountable, while also contributing to their communities. Lifeguard certification can provide excellent networking and employment opportunities. This course has both an online and in-person portion to meet the 27 hours of training that is required to become certified. The online portion must be completed before the first day of the in-person portion of the training. To become certified, participants must: 1. Be at least 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the course. 2. Complete the online portion prior to the first day of in-person training and bring proof of completion. 3. Complete the following swimming prerequisites: Complete a swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping to rest: Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds: •Jump into the water and totally submerge, resurface then swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. (Swimming on the back or side is not permitted. Swim goggles are allowed) •Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs. •Swim 50 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. •Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. (The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed). •Submerge to a depth of 7 - 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. •Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, holding the object at the surface with both hands and keeping the face out at or near the surface. •Exit the water without using a ladder or steps. 4. Pass the skills and written exam. 5. Participate in all 27 hours of training and must attend all in-person hours .

We are NOT allowing drop-ins for this event. Please be advised that our pool policy prohibits parents from dropping off children and we kindly request that parents remain on site. Child supervision expectations are below. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding! Child Supervision Expectations: All children ages 14 and younger must check in with a lifeguard before entering the pool For all children ages 13 - 14 years: An adult must be present in the building. Parent does not need to be in the water. For all children ages 9 - 12 years: An adult must be present in the pool room (not the observation room). Parent does not need to be in the water. For all children ages 6 - 8 years: 1 adult must be in the pool for every 2 children. For all children ages 5 years and younger: 1 adult must be in the pool for every 2 children. Children must be within arms reach at all times. Children in swim diapers must wear a plastic diaper cover in pool. Pool Expectations: No one will be allowed in the swimming area unless the pool is officially open, and a lifeguard is on duty. Swimming without a Ready-To-Rescue Lifeguard present on deck is prohibited. Running, rough play, dunking, wrestling, or other improper conduct causing undue disturbances on or about the pool area or any acts which would endanger any patron are prohibited. No prolonged underwater swimming for time and/or distance. Competitive and/or repetitive breath holding can be deadly and is not permitted. Hyperventilation is absolutely not permitted. To ensure safety, check with the lifeguard before entering the pool with floatation devices. Swimmers MUST take a shower (with soap) before entering the pool. Swimmers must wear appropriate swimsuits. Jewelry, street shoes, street clothes, gym shorts, cut offs and underwear are not permitted in the pool. Clean t-shirts may be worn for modesty or medical reasons but first must be sanctioned by the Pool Manager. Children not potty-trained MUST wear a swim diaper or plastic, leak-proof pants while in the pool. Persons with a contagious disease, open sores, infectious conditions are prohibited from swimming. Any person who has or has had diarrhea in the past two weeks, please do not use the pool. No gum, food or drink allowed in the pool. No glass of any kind is allowed. No smoking or alcohol is allowed. Individuals under the influence of drugs or alcohol are not permitted. No running on pool deck. No diving from the side of the pool . This is a family friendly facility, please no intimate contact. Abusive, foul or racial remarks are prohibited. Items Allowed in the Pool: Lifejackets, pool noodles, puddle jumpers (non-inflatable). Plastic/metal water bottles (no glass). Small pool/bath toys. Shower/pool shoes. Towels. Please store any other personal items in the lockers. Lifeguards have the authority to enforce all pool rules and can ask you to leave if engaging in reckless behavior.
