Holiday Gift “Cold Process” Beginning Soap Making
Are you interested in learning a new hobby? Come and join the holiday fun! Make your own crafted holiday soaps and surprise for friends and family with some special holiday gifts! You will learn the cold making process. All of the materials will be supplied by instructor. At the end of class, you will have a completely holiday handmade batch of 6-8 bars of soap to use as gifts or for yourself! The soaps will take 4-6 weeks to “cure” and will be ready just in time for holiday gifts!$15.00 will be paid directly to the instructor for supplies.

Online registration is available until 4:00 p.m. the day prior to session. Schedules will be posted weekly. *Preregistration required. Limit of 24 participants.Current Schedule: Mondays & Wednesdays, 7:30 - 9:30 PM OPEN PICKLEBALL (No Instructor)Pickleball is a fun and popular game that is a combination of several classic games - badminton, tennis and table tennis! It is easy for beginners of all ages to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced game for experienced players. People of all ages and athletic abilities will find that pickleball is an enjoyable sport with straightforward rules. Open play means that all players of any skill level are invited to play on the courts. Players rotate in and out of games to ensure everyone has the opportunity to play. Bring your own paddle, game balls and nets are provided (limited number of extra paddles available). 3 courts available for play. Follow the pickleball rules and guidelines stated in the USAPA rulebook. Court shoes must be worn. Open to ages 18+. No refunds will be issued for non-attendance. Fees are non-transferable and cannot be applied to another day. Be courteous of all skill levels and enjoy playing! No reserved courts.

Chess Camp: Tactics & Strategies with CSGA
Academic
This chess camp is for players that need the next level of challenge from their school club. Maybe you’re ready to “try” tournament play. Maybe you want to “improve” your tournament play. Standard chess and variations will be used to improve your skills. Participants should be interested in a deeper level of instruction beyond the basics.

Elementary Chess Club with CSGA
Academic
Whether you consider yourself a beginner or intermediate player, join this club to meet and interact with other chess players in your school and play on a weekly basis. If they are new to the game, players will learn the basic rules and strategies of chess. Tournament play is encouraged outside of the club, but not required. Players are able to complete a full game and recognize a checkmate and stalemate Players can set and use a chess clock during a game Players are able to resolve a disagreement with & w/o adults present Players can explain the rules of chess (movement of the pieces, checkmate, & stalemate)

STEM Weather Explorers with CSGA
Academic
Learn how Meteorologists and National Weather Observers measure the weather and classify climate! Use and create basic measuring tools for recording environmental data that scientists and reporters use to describe the weather and climate. Practice recording and reporting your own weather data. Use remote sensing techniques with drones to acquire some of your data. Observe, Record, Analyze, Predict, and Report your findings. Official weather observers need dedication to public service, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and perform daily routines. Do you have what it takes?

This Spanish class is for heritage Spanish speaking students who would like to deepen their Spanish skills with a focus on cultural awareness. The course will encourage conversation as well as project-based learning and interactive activities. Each day we will be “visiting” new countries to learn about unique customs, arts, foods, and music-all in Spanish! The road to Spanish language learning success begins with this all new and exciting 16-week Spanish adventure! In the fall session, Vamos por el pueblo (Let’s go to the town) the class amigos, Dani and Beto, share the culture and daily life of a small town in Mexico. After break, the journey continues with Vamos a la ciudad (Let’s go to the city!) to the bustling city of Madrid, Spain. Students will learn practical conversation skills as well as vocabulary related to the home, community, health, sports, and pastimes-- all in Spanish! This stimulating class environment energizes and motivates students to explore the enriching cultures and passion of the Spanish language. Virtual Competition Chess Club
Academic
This program is for players of all grades and ages interested in participating and competing in tournament chess, or just want their chess ability to improve to the next tactical level. Players will meet Saturday morning online for chess instruction and fun competitive play. Face to face, sanctioned tournament play is strongly encouraged as well. Expert coaching will be provided for participants at many tournaments. Perfect for students that want extra challenges beyond their school clubs. Also great for students that have a scheduling conflict with their school chess club.
