Swim Level Assessments
This is NOT a swim lessonThe course is set up to help place youth into the correct level for swim lessons. We assess each swimmers skills to ensure their safety during lessons during group sessions. Each assessment will take no more than 5 minutes There can be up to 2 swimmers per assessment Assessments will be done in the order of which swimmers arrive We ask that swimmers promptly leave the pool after an assessment We will stop accepting new assessments 30 minutes before the designated time ends

Circles - Felted Table Runner
Create a colorful runner or wall hanging from wool fibers and a little soapy water. No knitting or sewing required, learn the magic of wet feltmaking and create a work of art for your table or wall. Inspired by vintage penny rugs and the Russian artist Kandinsky, this design looks great in any home, office or cabin. $35 materials fee includes all fibers and supplies is payable to instructor. Code Championship Tournament Series | Virtual Computer Coding Competition
Academic
Build a computer bot to play head-to-head against other coders! Whether this is your first Code Championship event, or if you've been competing for years, this is the perfect way to explore the competitive coding world of Code Championship. No previous coding experience necessary. The Code Championship Series is a series of four tournaments in four weeks (it's ok to miss one or two). These tournaments will be hosted online using Google Meet and the Code Championship website. If you have a modern browser like Chrome or Firefox, no additional download is required. Please come knowing how to navigate the internet (basic typing and mouse control). The link to the Google Meet event will be emailed two days before the tournament.

Whether you consider yourself a beginner or intermediate player, join this club to meet and interact with other chess players in your school and play on a weekly basis. If they are new to the game, players will learn the basic rules and strategies of chess. Tournament play is encouraged outside of the club, but not required. Players are able to complete a full game and recognize a checkmate and stalemate Players can set and use a chess clock during a game Players are able to resolve a disagreement with & w/o adults present Players can explain the rules of chess (movement of the pieces, checkmate, & stalemate)

Northeast Regional Open Chess Final Tournament
Academic
Elementary and secondary chess players are invited to participate in the ""NE Regional Open Chess Final". Whether you participated in a chess club or not in the fall, winter, or spring, you are invited to compete in this short, fun tournament where you can play against students representing Mounds View, St. Anthony-New Brighton and Mahtomedi school districts! Time controls will be used when necessary to keep the tournament within time constraints. The format and recognition will be based on the number of registered participants in each grade level and school. Anticipated sections will be Secondary 7th-12th, Invitational Elementary (Top Club Players), Open Elementary K-1st & 2nd-6th. Pre-registration is encouraged, but walk-ins will be accepted. Tournament etiquette and procedures will be explained at the event for players new to tournament play. Players are not eliminated. Everyone plays in each round unless there is a bye because of an odd number of participants. Typically there are 4-5 rounds. Check-in will be 30 minutes before the posted start time. A great way to end of the Chess season. Concessions Available: Breakfast, Lunch & Snack Items Supervision will be provided. Parents/guardians are allow to stay, but are not allowed in the playing area and will be asked to wait in the lobby area. Mask will be required while playing across from your opponent, but optional elsewhere. This tournament is being held at Edgewood Middle School -5100 Edgewood Dr, Mounds View, MN 55112

Join us as we jet off to the bustling city of Madrid, Spain with Vamos por la Ciudad, (Let’s Go to the City!). This stimulating class environment will energize and motivate students to learn useful vocabulary about sports, health, and pastimes - all in Spanish! The engaging classroom journeys include playing soccer, eating Spanish tapas, participating in sports at the school, and joining in activities in the park. Authentic Spanish phrases and conversation will be reinforced during each class. Act now to ensure your child is a part of this comprehensive bilingual experience. Participants already registered for full year Spanish ¡Vamos! do not need to re-register, this course is for learners joining for only the spring session.

Virtual Competition Chess Club

This program is for players of all grades and ages interested in participating and competing in tournament chess, or just want their chess ability to improve to the next tactical level. Players will meet Saturday morning online for chess instruction and fun competitive play. Face to face, sanctioned tournament play is strongly encouraged as well. Expert coaching will be provided for participants at many tournaments. Perfect for students that want extra challenges beyond their school clubs. Also great for students that have a scheduling conflict with their school chess club.
