After first viewing the Biblical Mt. Ararat from its capital city, Yerevan, we’ll explore Areni Cave where archeologists have unearthed a 6000 year old wine press and an array of fermenting vats and storage pots. We’ll follow the trail of prehistoric standing stones, Armenia’s Stonehenge, marching across the mountaintop, visit a pagan temple complex, and a monastery carved into a mountain And we will learn the truth about the holocaust perpetrated by the Ottoman Turks in 1915 in which 1.5 million Armenians lost their lives.

This course offers an introductory look into drones and aerial photo and video capture. Whether you already own a drone, are thinking about purchasing one, or are simply curious about the technology, this class will give you a solid foundation. Learn about airspace and weather considerations, flight authorizations, planning and preparation, image and video capture techniques, composition, and post-flight editing. Curious about drones? This beginner-friendly class introduces you to the exciting world of aerial drones, also known as small unmanned aerial vehicles (sUAVs) or systems (sUAS). You'll learn: The wide range of drone uses—from recreation to commercial applications Types of drones, including DIY builds, FPV (first-person view), and ready-to-fly camera kits How to choose the right drone for your needs Where, when, and how to fly safely and legally Key airspace rules, FAA regulations, and practical safety tips An overview of drone registration, certification, and the FAA TRUST (Recreational UAS Safety Test) Weather permitting, a live drone demonstration will be included. The focus of this class is education, bridge-building, and dialogue-based approach to learning more about the lived experiences of Minnesota Muslims. American Style Mah Jongg is an Ancient Chinese game similar to Gin Rummy except it is played with tiles instead of cards. Instructor Tarri Levine is a Director of Mah Jongg Tournaments, as well as, Mah Jongg enthusiast and Instructor. Rules, strategies and etiquette will be the focus of the class. In this robust visual presentation by Ice Palace Historian, Bob Olsen, you will explore how Minnesota became one of the few places on earth that host ice palaces for over 100 years. If you are new to Minnesota or just want to learn more about this unique architectural form, this course should be on your “must see” bucket list. Travel along the Silk Road as we visit the ancient cities of Uzbekistan. We’ll begin and end in Tashkent, the capital city, that has reinvented itself after a century of Soviet occupation. Next stop will be Samarkand, a city of mosques and madrassa, built in the 15th century by Temur Amir, 14th Century conqueror and modern-day hero of the Uzbeks. Then, we’ll join the throngs of holiday-goers for the Goldbroidery Festival in the timeless city of Bukhara to enjoy song, dance, and shopping for treasures.
