Swim Level Assessments
This is NOT a swim lessonThe course is set up to help place youth into the correct level for swim lessons. We assess each swimmers skills to ensure their safety during lessons during group sessions. Each assessment will take no more than 5 minutes There can be up to 2 swimmers per assessment Assessments will be done in the order of which swimmers arrive We ask that swimmers promptly leave the pool after an assessment We will stop accepting new assessments 30 minutes before the designated time ends

Create a colorful runner or wall hanging from wool fibers and a little soapy water. No knitting or sewing required, learn the magic of wet feltmaking and create a work of art for your table or wall. Inspired by vintage penny rugs and the Russian artist Kandinsky, this design looks great in any home, office or cabin. $35 materials fee includes all fibers and supplies is payable to instructor. Alzheimer's Series - Understanding and Responding to Dementia-Related Behavior

When someone is showing signs of dementia, it’s time to talk. Often, conversations with family about changing behaviors can be challenging and uncomfortable. This program provides tips for breaking the ice with your family so you can address some of the most common issues that are difficult to discuss: going to the doctor for a diagnosis or medical treatment, deciding when to stop driving, and making legal and financial plans for future care. As people with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias progress in their journey and the ability to use words is lost, families need new ways to connect. Explore how communication takes place when someone has Alzheimer's, learn to decode the verbal and behavioral messages delivered by someone with dementia, and identify strategies to help you connect and communicate at each stage of the disease. American Heart Association CPR, AED & First Aid

THREE OPTIONS AVAILABLE: CPR/AED Only (9:00 AM - 11:30 AM): This CPR/AED class gives individuals the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care for breathing and cardiac emergencies until advanced medical personnel arrive. This American Heart Association course certifies individuals in CPR/AED for adults, children and infants is nationally recognized and valid for two years. First Aid Only (11:30 AM - 2:30 PM): First Aid covers any emergency that does not require the use of CPR. Topics covered in this American Heart Association course include recognition and treatment for heart attacks, stroke, diabetic emergencies, allergic reactions as well as first aid treatments to wounds, fractures, burns and other common injuries. CPR/AED/First Aid (9:00 AM - 2:30 PM): This class combines CPR, AED and First Aid Training into one convenient session. Lay Responder CPR/AED with First Aid teaches the skills necessary to recognize and provide immediate care for breathing problems, cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until medical personnel arrive. Participants will be certified by the American Heart Association for: Standard First Aid and CPR/AED for adults, children and infants. This course meets the Rule 2 and 3 requirements for childcare providers. Intended Audience: Teachers, Daycare Providers, Coaches, Office Workers, new parents, or anyone who wants or needs to learn the life-saving skills of CPR and are not a healthcare professional (healthcare professionals are required to take the more advanced BLS Healthcare Provider CPR course). Feel free to bring a lunch or snack.

Avoid the Pitfalls of Perimenopause

Perimenopause starts around the age of 35 for most women and can last 10-15 years. Common symptoms include fatigue, migraines, weight gain, water retention, depression, sleep disturbances, joint aches, hot flashes, anger flashes, migraines, fibroids, exaggerated PMS and more. Once you understand exactly what is causing all the troublesome symptoms, they are much easier to correct. We’ll discuss how to get hormone levels measured - blood test vs. saliva test and what to do with the results; traditional HRT vs. bio-identical; acupressure points to assist in symptom relief and nutritional musts. You’ll leave with multiple tools and techniques for restoring health and well-being.

The Art of De-Aging: Peel Years Off Your Bio Age

Your biological or body age, however, is measured by how well all of your organs and body systems work and there are many things you can do to affect your biological age. In this workshop, you will learn simple, scientifically proven things you can do right now to decrease your body age. Also, you will learn facial acupressure points to help erase years from your face naturally by increasing muscle tone, decreasing puffiness and eye bag. Is fat collecting around your mid-section and no matter how well you watch what you eat or how much you exercise that weight is not budging? If this is your story, your inability to lose weight probably has more to do with your hormone levels than anything else. Until you discover and correct any imbalances, trying to lose weight will be like shoveling sand against the tide. You will learn key strategies for fighting fat and losing weight including: concrete solutions (not tricks, not using your will power) for controlling appetite and cravings; boosters to keep your metabolism burning brightly; how to tell if your thyroid is creating weight problems and what to do about it; hormone mimicking chemicals; what HRT or birth control pills have to do with weight gain; hormone levels checked reliably; steps needed to safely break the vicious cycle of hormone related weight gain to help your body begin to lose weight again.
