This is a low-impact, intensive aerobic workout in shallow water that utilizes the resistance of the water and equipment to strengthen, tone, and stretch muscles.Participants must be able to maintain balance without assistance for the duration of class.

With easy-to-follow patterns and colorful yarn, students will craft their own pocket-sized creatures one stitch at a time! Pet Portrait Painting

Join us to create a stunning portrait of your beloved pet! Each furry companion will be hand-drawn on a 16 x 20 canvas, ready for you to bring to life with the help of a professional artist. All materials are provided, making this a wonderful opportunity to craft a heartfelt gift for yourself or someone special. Please note: One pet per person/canvas. Seed Mosaics: A Great Minnesotan Tradition
Art
Every year the Minnesota State Fair showcases seed mosaics created by artists all over the state. In our seed mosaic workshop, participants will continue this great tradition by creating their own works of seed art. Participants will learn about the history and techniques of mosaic art and create a design of their own. Once completed, participants will share their designs with their fellow seed artists and share this Minnesotan art form with their family and friends! Art
Develop and improve your sewing skills while working on a project of your choice. Students who have completed the Introduction, Beginning, or Intermediate sewing classes will receive instructor support, guidance, and extra help with challenging techniques, pattern instructions, or finishing an already started project. Sewing: Intermediate Apparel; Knits
Art
Have you felt intimidated or scared to sew with knit fabrics? Or been frustrated when you’ve tried? We’ll demystify knits and eliminate frustrations and sew a garment of your choice in class that you’ll wear with pride. Students should be comfortable with machine sewing and familiar working with and reading patterns. Week 1, bring sewing machine and basic supplies. Week 2-6, bring sewing machine, supplies, and project materials. Int Apparel Sewing Supply List: Sewing machine in good working order with bobbin -must have zigzag stitch function Knit fabric to practice on and test stitches (can be yardage, fabric scraps, an old t-shirt, etc) One package assorted size Ballpoint needles Thread Scissors Pins Ruler or seam gauge Tape measure Fabric marking pen or pencil Seam ripper Please budget $25-$50 for pattern, fabric, and notions for your class project - selections will be made after first class. Learn how to thread your sewing machine, how to read a pattern, sewing terms and equipment, and basic sewing techniques to sew a tote bag in class. Perfect for those with little or no sewing experience. *Under age 18 must be enrolled with an adult. Spring Basket
Art
Encourage the creative side of you by weaving this authentic wicker basket. Starting with a drilled wooden base, round reed is used for the spokes. The sides are woven up using very narrow dyed reed. You may choose from a wide variety of colors, both pastels and variegated tones. The rim is finished with a unique woven braid. All supplies and tools will be provided by instructor. The finished size is approximately 9" long, 6" wide, and 5" high. Perfect for so many uses. Supply fee: $20 payable to instructor the night of class. Watercolor Painting - Intermediate

If you have some experience with watercolor, join this class to develop your skills. Please note that this is not a beginner class. Some skills you should have before taking this class are knowing the wetness and dryness of the media, how to mix basic colors, and understanding basic perspective principals. You will learn techniques, see demonstrations, receive guided instruction, and participate in a class critique. Each week we will work on a different topic. Purchase a copy of John Shaw and Ferdinand Petrie's "The Big Book of Painting Nature in Watercolor" prior to class. Materials Needed: Pad of 140 lb watercolor paper 11x15 (this can be Strathmore or Arches - avoid Canson paper - do not get a block of paper, this is too expensive) Board to put them on 1 multi-compartment palette or tray 1 roll of better quality paper towels 1 #2 pencil 1 art gum eraser 1 roll of masking tape 1 bottle mask-off any color 1 lightweight pair of scissors 1 ruler at least 18 inches long Graphite copy paper 1 set of good quality tube-style watercolors. Set should include a crimson red (naphthol or alizarin), cadmium red light, ultramarine, cadmium yellow, lemon yellow, raw sienna, purple or violet, sap green or olive green, payne's grey, and cerulean blue. Some colors may need to be purchased separately. Brushes - Size 10 and 12 round brush, 1 flat brush size 1/4" or 1/2" wide, and 1 large brush 3/4" or wider A cup for water Optional: a small misting bottle (an old hairspray bottle works well) Registration for all class sessions closes 3 days before the start date.
