Wooden Mosaic Star
Unleash your creativity and craftsmanship while you create a one-of-a-kind piece of wooden mosaic art in this hands-on workshop! In this session, students will craft a beautiful Mosaic Star from pre-cut wooden pieces. Whether you choose a rustic, modern, or whimsical style, your creation will reflect your personality since you'll have the freedom to paint or stain each piece to your liking. Once decorated, the pieces will be carefully arranged and assembled into a striking star-shaped mosaic using wood glue and a pin nailer. Learn the science of how time spent in nature helps to improve our physical and mental well-being. This class is offered by the U of M Extension Master Gardener volunteers of Ramsey County, who are eager to share research-based gardening best practices with the people in their community. Whether it’s chilly outside or sunshine’s in full swing, we’re turning the pool into an underwater paradise! Join us for a warm and wacky ocean-themed party at our indoor pool, packed with tropical tunes and silly sea creature fun. Dress in your best beachwear and dive into a sea of laughter, floating fun, and nautical nonsense. It’s the perfect way to bring the beach to the neighborhood—no sunscreen required! PRICING Child Pool Entry - $12 For youth 18 and under. Ages 15-18 can attend on their own. Ages 13-14 must have an adult stay in the building. Ages 9-12 must have an adult in the pool room. Ages 8 and under must have an adult in the water with them. Please see full policy below before registering. Adult Pool Entry - $10 For ages 19+. If you have a child 8 years or younger or a child requires supervision in the pool, be sure to add on this adult entry since an adult is required to be in the water. *Drop-ins are welcome at time of event. Please be advised that our pool policy prohibits parents from dropping off children and we kindly request that parents remain on site. Child supervision expectations are below. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding! Child Supervision Expectations All children ages 14 and younger must check in with a lifeguard before entering the pool For all children ages 13 - 14 years: An adult must be present in the building. Parent does not need to be in the water. For all children ages 9 - 12 years: An adult must be present in the pool room (not the observation room). Parent does not need to be in the water. For all children ages 6 - 8 years: 1 adult must be in the pool for every 2 children. For all children ages 5 years and younger: 1 adult must be in the pool for every 2 children. Children must be within arms reach at all times. Children in swim diapers must wear a plastic diaper cover in pool. Pool Expectations: No one will be allowed in the swimming area unless the pool is officially open, and a lifeguard is on duty. Swimming without a Ready-To-Rescue Lifeguard present on deck is prohibited. Running, rough play, dunking, wrestling, or other improper conduct causing undue disturbances on or about the pool area or any acts which would endanger any patron are prohibited. No prolonged underwater swimming for time and/or distance. Competitive and/or repetitive breath holding can be deadly and is not permitted. Hyperventilation is absolutely not permitted. To ensure safety, check with the lifeguard before entering the pool with floatation devices. Swimmers MUST take a shower (with soap) before entering the pool. Swimmers must wear appropriate swimsuits. Jewelry, street shoes, street clothes, gym shorts, cut offs and underwear are not permitted in the pool. Clean t-shirts may be worn for modesty or medical reasons but first must be sanctioned by the Pool Manager. Children not potty-trained MUST wear a swim diaper or plastic, leak-proof pants while in the pool. Persons with a contagious disease, open sores, infectious conditions are prohibited from swimming. Any person who has or has had diarrhea in the past two weeks, please do not use the pool. No gum, food or drink allowed in the pool. No glass of any kind is allowed. No smoking or alcohol is allowed. Individuals under the influence of drugs or alcohol are not permitted. No running on pool deck. No diving from the side of the pool . This is a family friendly facility, please no intimate contact. Abusive, foul or racial remarks are prohibited. Items Allowed in the Pool: Lifejackets, pool noodles, puddle jumpers (non-inflatable). Plastic/metal water bottles (no glass). Small pool/bath toys. Shower/pool shoes. Towels. Please store any other personal items in the lockers. Lifeguards have the authority to enforce all pool rules and can ask you to leave if engaging in reckless behavior.

Create a sculptural pumpkin out of wool roving! Learn to use felting needles, core wool, and colorful felt batting to create a colorful little pumpkin. Join us and make your own needle felted pumpkins, perfect for Fall decor! In this workshop you'll learn the fundamentals of needle felting - a unique and simple craft that uses specialized felting needles to bind bundles of wool into fun objects and critters. No sewing experience needed! Note: Finger protection is provided but be aware this activity does involve the use of felting needles. $5 supply fee payable to instructor the night of class. Nuno Felted Cowl

This cozy cowl has it all! It’s reversible, it’s convertible, it’s all gender! Join us and explore the contemporary art of nuno felting! Learn to combine soft wool fibers and silk fabric, then decorate your cowl with a variety of embellishments, including more silk! Your felted cowl can convert to an ear warmer/headband, if you’d like. Felting experience helpful, but bold beginners are welcome. Some physical stamina needed for felting classes. $35 supply fee payable to instructor in cash or check. Bring from home: an old bath towel, 2-3 hand towels, sharp scissors, tape measure, plastic bag to carry home wet items, bag lunch. Optional: apron, light weight/open weave silk fabrics or silk scarves to use as embellishment. Throughout the week, they'll engage in exciting projects such as Ocean Zones in a Jar, ocean-themed mandalas, and building a coral reef model. These are just a few of the many activities planned. Pain Management with Self-Myofascial Release

Fascia is a type of connective tissue that plays a key role in flexibility. This ever-changing tissue adapts in relationship to aging, repetitive movement and lack of movement. And though these changes start at an early age they often show up in mid-life as stiffness, overuse injuries or just general lack of flexibility. This workshop will explain the factors that lead to inflexibility and the specific needs and physical limitations we may face because of tight fascia. You will leave with SMR techniques you can do on your own. Equipment cost of $4 payable to the instructor.

Paranormal Twist Through Haunted Anoka
Personal Interest
Through the magic of Power Point, your guide will take you through forgotten Anoka to hear the stories of the people who once lived there and, according to some, are still hanging around. During this presentation, she will tell you of long ago Anoka—of the Jackson Hotel, now Billy’s, the old Post Office, Colonial Hall, the Masonic Lodge, and some infamous residences, all haunted, of course.

Friendship Connection is the district's school-age childcare program that provides care before and after school, on non-school days, and during the summer. We are open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and offer our students opportunities in areas such as science, engineering, creative arts, cooking, sports/fitness, language arts, and technology. Registration for School Year 2025-26 is now open. All registrations will take time to process. We will contact you if your registration is on hold due to staffing. If your site is on a waitlist due to staffing, you may still submit your registration and we will contact you with the potential start date (if staffing is available) or an update regarding the site you are enrolled at.
