Swim Level Assessments
This is NOT a swim lessonThe course is set up to help place youth into the correct level for swim lessons. We assess each swimmers skills to ensure their safety during lessons during group sessions. Each assessment will take no more than 5 minutes There can be up to 2 swimmers per assessment Assessments will be done in the order of which swimmers arrive We ask that swimmers promptly leave the pool after an assessment We will stop accepting new assessments 30 minutes before the designated time ends

Circles - Felted Table Runner
Create a colorful runner or wall hanging from wool fibers and a little soapy water. No knitting or sewing required, learn the magic of wet feltmaking and create a work of art for your table or wall. Inspired by vintage penny rugs and the Russian artist Kandinsky, this design looks great in any home, office or cabin. $35 materials fee includes all fibers and supplies is payable to instructor. Defensive Driving
Improve your driving skills and get a discount on your personal auto insurance. The Defensive Driving Course, developed by the National Safety Council, teaches basic crash prevention techniques and has a proven record of reducing traffic violations and incidents. It's taught by experienced, professional traffic safety instructors, including officers of the Minnesota State Patrol. The class consists of lecture, films and discussions. There is no behind-the-wheel driving and there are no tests. Preregistration is required at least two weeks prior to the class date.

Adult Conversational Spanish: (a) Beginner Part I (Live Online Class)

Always dreamed of learning Spanish or refreshing your high school Spanish? Then this class is for you! The primary focus of the class will be on building conversational tools in Spanish through interactive practice and exercises. Vocabulary topics will include common greetings and introductions, pronunciation, numbers, food, clothing, likes and dislikes. Grammar topics will include subject pronouns, the verb estar conjugation, gender of nouns, and plurality. Participants will learn how to carry on small conversations in Spanish and each class will include interesting cultural anecdotes including Spanish word origin, dialect differences, and names in Spanish. Ability to access zoom and basic working computer knowledge essential. Applicable to new students and previous Intermediate Spanish conversation participants.

Learning a language is a lifelong journey and now you are on your way! Keep up the momentum in Beginner Spanish Part Two. Participants will continue with practical conversational components and builder phrases in Spanish enabling them to carry on small conversations related to giving and asking for directions and restaurant conversation. Vocabulary and grammar components will include weather, seasons, dates with months, days of the week, family vocabulary along with the verbs ser and tener conjugations. Culture discussions will include the importance of food, family, and friendships in Spanish speaking countries. Applicable to new students and previous Beginner Part 1 Spanish conversation participants. Ability to access zoom and basic working computer knowledge essential.

Continue building on previous Spanish skills to further develop conversational abilities in the language which will include expressing recommendations and comparisons. Real life scenarios will be introduced and role played in Spanish to ensure a dynamic and interactive learning environment. Participants will also be delving into more complex grammatical instruction and vocabulary to create full sentences in Spanish. This will include present tense conjugation with ER & IR verbs, hobbies, sports, and workplace vocabulary in Spanish. Exciting culture discussions are related to music, dance, and famous people in Spanish speaking countries. Applicable to new students and previous Spanish Conversation participants.

Using an Air Fryer to cook vegetables is quick—and the healthy results are delicious! In this class Kirsten will demonstrate a variety of recipes using in-season local and/or commonly available vegetables including Lemon Pepper Broccoli, Miso Sesame Kale Chips, and Roasted Sweet Potatoes. Participants will receive an extensive handout along with the link to join prior to class. There will be ample time for questions during the session, and participants will receive a link to the recording afterwards so you can follow along at your convenience.

Alcohol Ink - Burst of the Sunflower

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at Abstract Art that is fun and Colorful? Alcohol Ink (AI) is a new painting technique that just screams ABSTRACT. With so many different techniques, AI will soon become a favorite medium. To make your sunflower, you will first lay down ink for the center. The next step is to create the petals. The petals will be created using a hand rubber blower. Remember that this is abstract so don’t worry that each petal is perfect. The last step is to create the center by dropping various colors to brighten and create depth in your flower. Remember this is the fun part – explore your creativity. Your instructor will help guide you through each step. You will make one 5” x 7” painting in your chosen colors. Given time, you can create a 2nd painting with a white or black background. Just come to have fun and enjoy yourself. Best part of using Alcohol Ink is if you don’t like a part of your picture, you can wipe it off with ISO alcohol. Note: This class does use Isopropyl Alcohol Supply fee payable to instructor the night of class: $15

Don’t worry, the heart does not have to be perfect, it will continue to take on its own personality when you cover it with doodles. Let your imagination go wild. However, some behaviors can present real challenges for caregivers to manage. Join us to learn to decode behavioral messages, identify common behavior triggers, and learn strategies to help intervene with some of the most common behavioral challenges of Alzheimer’s disease.

Alzheimer's Series: Driving, Doctor Visits, Legal and Financial Planning

When someone is showing signs of dementia, it’s time to talk. Often, conversations with family about changing behaviors can be challenging and uncomfortable. This program provides tips for breaking the ice with your family so you can address some of the most common issues that are difficult to discuss: going to the doctor for a diagnosis or medical treatment, deciding when to stop driving, and making legal and financial plans for future care.
