WHAT IS EARLY CHILDHOOD SCREENING? Early Childhood Screening is a free service to check your child's growth, development, and learning. During the screening, your child will complete a variety of activities that show their communication, cognitive, and motor skills. SCREEN AT 3 Though screening can be done anytime between ages 3 and 5, screening is recommended at age 3. Screening at age 3 allows families to identify and address any developmental, health, hearing, or vision concerns early, when support and intervention can make the greatest impact. Completing the screening at this age also provides plenty of time to connect with resources and ensure children are fully prepared for preschool and kindergarten. The screening has a separate scoring system for each age group, so waiting until your child is older will not improve a score. REQUIRED FOR PRE-K & KINDERGARTEN Early Childhood Screening is required for participation in our Pre-K program. Minnesota state law also requires families to have their children screened before they enter kindergarten. WHO DOESN'T NEED TO BE SCREENED? If your child has already completed an Early Childhood Screening one time between the ages of three and five. If your child was screened through Head Start or another school district. Your child has an active IEP (Individualized Education Plan) or received special education services between the ages of three and five. (Speech-only services would still require an early childhood screening.) TIME & LOCATION We offer weekday and Saturday appointments for screening at Aŋpétu Téča Education Center - 1910 County Road B West. Appointments typically take one hour. May 30 will be the last day of screening with Roseville Schools for this school year. For summer options, please check with other school districts. SCHEDULE TODAY! Step 1: Click the Enroll Now button by your desired appointment time. Step 2: Sign in or create your Eleyo account. Step 3: Under Attendees, click the box next to your child’s name. If you only see your own name, Add a Relationship to add your child. Step 4: Click the Enroll Selected People button. Step 5: Accept terms. Step 6: Answer questions, then click Enroll Selected People. Step 7: Click the green Check Out button. No payment is required for this free screening, but you must check out in order to process your request. Step 8: Click the green Continue button. Step 9: Click on the green Print Receipt button. Your order is complete! You will be receiving a confirmation email with a link to the required forms. Step 10: Click on the screening forms link in the confirmation email. Complete and bring those forms with you to the screening. If you do not receive a course confirmation email within a few minutes after registering, your registration is not complete and your appointment is not valid. QUESTIONS? Enjoy special time with your grandchild exploring the early childhood classroom activities, followed by a discussion on grandparenting in today's world. This is a separating class. This class is especially for new babies (0-9 months) and parents. There will be songs, sensory, and physical development activities to do with your baby! You will also meet other parents with new infants and discuss topics of interest to the group. This is a non-separating class. Ages birth-9 months as of class start date.

We'll explore all areas of development in this class, especially for children in their first year of life (and parents and caregivers). Each week we will have activities to support a developmental area, such as physical, gross and fine motor, language, cognitive, social/emotional and more! We will participate with our infants and toddlers that support learning and growth in these areas and learn more about how parents and caregivers can support learning at home. This is a non-separating class. Ages 3 - 11 months as of class start date.

This class is for children who are getting ready to crawl, walk, move and shake! Join us for fun activities that support your child's physical development, including large and fine motor development. We'll also talk about ways to create a safe environment at home as our babies become mobile. This is a non-separating class. Ages 6-18 months as of class start date.

Child care is offered to siblings of ECFE class participants and is available on a sliding fee scale. Newborns and young babies birth to 4 months are welcome to come to ECFE classes with their parents. After that time, we request that your child attend sibling care or that you find an alternate child care option.

Each week, you and your child will experience a children’s book by Mo Willems. We will have opportunities to create crafts, enjoy activities and play literacy games that support the theme of the book. This class will help lay the groundwork for a love of reading by participating in read-alouds of Knuffle Bunny and Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus and more! This is a non-separating class. Ages 2-5 years as of the class start date.

Explore the classroom, sing songs, read books, enjoy creative and messy projects and more during this class just for toddlers and parents. Connect with other caregivers on topics such as language acquisition, routines, nutrition, the importance of play, supporting big emotions, child development and more. This is a separating class. Ages 9-24 months as of class start date.
