Learn a clever new technique for wet felting with a resist and create a sturdy bowl to hold your keys, chocolates or simply to brighten up your creative space. Use bits and pieces of fabric, yarn, and fibers to decorate your bowl, inside and out. This is not Leslie’s popular vessels class. Here, you will expand your sculptural wet felting repertoire with this sturdier vessel-making technique while at the same time exploring color, texture and adding fun to your creative practice! Please note: some physical stamina needed for felting classes. Some felting experience helpful but bold beginners are welcome. $30 supply fee, payable to instructor the night of class.
Registration for all class sessions closes 3 days before the start date.
Late Registration: If you miss the deadline but are still interested, you can contact the Community Ed office by emailing us at CommunityEd@isd623.org or calling: 651-604-3770. Space may be limited, but we'll try our best to accommodate late registrations.
Leslie Granbeck is a feltmaker and instructor living in Minneapolis. She loves sharing her knowledge of fibers and their magical transformation into felt. She teaches traditional wet felting, nuno felting, and her favorite – three-dimensional seamless felting. Her classes are full of color, creativity and adventure. They also include a free workout as feltmaking is a “physical art”. When not teaching, you’ll find Leslie in her home studio working on new fiber projects. Visit www.fiberenvy.net.
