American Red Cross CPR, AED & First Aid
THREE OPTIONS AVAILABLE: CPR/AED Only (9:00 AM - 11:30 AM): This CPR/AED class gives individuals the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care for breathing and cardiac emergencies until advanced medical personnel arrive. This American Red Cross course certifies individuals in CPR/AED for adults, children and infants is nationally recognized and valid for two years.First Aid Only (11:30 AM - 2:30 PM): First Aid covers any emergency that does not require the use of CPR. Topics covered in this American Red Cross course include recognition and treatment for heart attacks, stroke, diabetic emergencies, allergic reactions as well as first aid treatments to wounds, fractures, burns and other common injuries.CPR/AED/First Aid (9:00 AM - 2:30 PM): This class combines CPR, AED and First Aid Training into one convenient session. Lay Responder CPR/AED with First Aid teaches the skills necessary to recognize and provide immediate care for breathing problems, cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until medical personnel arrive. Participants will be certified by the American Red Cross for: Standard First Aid and CPR/AED for adults, children and infants. This course meets the Rule 2 and 3 requirements for childcare providers. Intended Audience: Teachers, Daycare Providers, Coaches, Office Workers, new parents, or anyone who wants or needs to learn the life-saving skills of CPR and are not a healthcare professional (healthcare professionals are required to take the more advanced BLS Healthcare Provider CPR course). Feel free to bring a lunch or snack. My First Field Trip: Poplar Hill Dairy Goat Farm
As part of our My First Field Trip series, our littlest learners will experience their very first field trip with a visit to Poplar Hill Dairy Goat Farm. Students will enjoy a guided tour of the animal barns, learn how the animals are cared for, explore the history of the farm, and even have the chance to try milking a goat by hand.Designed for first-time field trippers, this outing builds confidence, curiosity, and independence while introducing students to new places and experiences beyond the classroom.We require all children to be fully potty trained to participate in field trips. This means they can go to the bathroom and clean up independently.

3-4 Curious Creators Camp: Messy Science + Cardboard Craze

AM/ PM Camp only registration includes 2 hours of themed activities. Full day option includes both AM and PM camps as well a variety of activities including a daily special recess, snack and lunch provided by Nutrition Services. AM Camp only Messy Science 9:30am-11:30am Messy Science In this hands-on camp, curiosity leads the way and getting a little messy is part of the fun! Kids will dive into exciting experiments that fizz, foam, stretch, and splatter while learning basic science concepts through play. PM Camp Cardboard Craze 1:30pm-3:30pm Cardboard Craze: Let's see what we can make with cardboard! Moving cars, dinosaurs, or something the world has never seen before - it's all up to you. Come see how versatile this everyday material really is as we get creative with cardboard! 3D Printing: Nintendo Characters with Tech Academy

Bring your favorite video game worlds to life by creating Nintendo-inspired characters with TinkerCAD while learning essential 3D design skills. Students will model unique creations in three dimensions, experiment with shapes and structures, and transform their digital ideas into real objects using 3D printers. While prints are finishing, campers can join Nintendo-themed challenges and even design their own video games inspired by the characters they love. Each student will have two small printed projects sent home. Printing and material fees are included. Bring a USB drive on the last day. Become a Pokémon master of 3D design by creating your very own Pokémon characters with TinkerCAD. Students will explore CAD modeling, experiment with shapes and features, and bring their digital creatures to life with 3D printers. Through creative storytelling and outdoor play, students will learn how rain helps plants grow, fills our rivers, and brings new life to the world around us. This theme encourages curiosity about nature, problem-solving through exploration, and appreciation for the Earth’s natural cycles. This enrichment class is run in partnership with our school-age care program, Friendship Connection, which helps us keep costs low and offer engaging opportunities before and after school. Butter slime is a soft, smooth type of slime that stretches easily and can be spread like butter. Students create it by mixing glue, contact solution, and clay for a fun, hands-on activity.

Challenge your mind and body this summer! Campers will learn chess and play matches that make their brains sweat. They'll also play a variety of physical games to keep their bodies active! Chess skills will cover the beginner to intermediate player and physical games may include badminton, pickleball, tag games, and other indoor/outdoor games based on the ability level of the campers.

Design, develop, and create 3D virtual reality environments and characters to build your own VR games! Students will start with smaller projects to learn the basics of coding, design, and interaction. In the final two days, they will construct a full labyrinth complete with challenges, characters, and immersive exploration. This camp is ideal for students passionate about technology and creativity! VR projects can be viewed on most mobile devices and VR systems such as Oculus. Extreme Robo-Games: Battlebot Olympics with Tech Academy

Students will team up in groups of two to three to explore the LEGO® Mindstorms robotic system and specialized Technic™ engineering components. Each day, they will design and program robots to take on exciting Olympic-style challenges that test strength, speed, and creativity. Throughout the camp, students will be encouraged to re-engineer their creations, making them stronger, faster, and more innovative. Yes, we CAN learn about robotics! With the LEGO® WeDo robotics system, young children can build and program their robotic creations. Designed by the experts at MIT, this unique system teaches children about simple machines, engineering, programming, and so much more. Young imaginations soar!
