Students will learn: Bobs with bubbles 5 times Front float for 5+ seconds Back float for 5+ seconds Jelly fish float for 5+ seconds Turtle float for 5+ seconds Roll from back to front Roll from front to back Front glide (one body length) Back glide (one body length) Front crawl 5 feet Flutter kicking on back 10 feet Elementary backstroke arms 5 feet (w/ support) Bobbing to safety Swim, Float, Swim 5 yards Jump into chest deep water Tread water for 10+ seconds Surface dives Retrieve objects of bottom of pool in chest deep water Water Safety Skills Parents MUST remain in the building during lessons and should stay within eyesight of the pool for quick contact if needed

These aquatics sessions are designed for children ages 9 months to 5 years old! Children are accompanied by a parent or adult in the pool as they learn to enjoy and explore the water.Promoting water safety from a young age will help to keep your child safe as they become more self-confident and believe in their abilities. The pool can also provide a lot of entertainment and enjoyment for young ones!Please note: A minimum of one adult per child is required to be in the water.

Seed Mosaics: A Great Minnesotan Tradition

Every year the Minnesota State Fair showcases seed mosaics created by artists all over the state. In our seed mosaic workshop, participants will continue this great tradition by creating their own works of seed art. Participants will learn about the history and techniques of mosaic art and create a design of their own. Once completed, participants will share their designs with their fellow seed artists and share this Minnesotan art form with their family and friends!

Enjoy a blast from the past with the once-again- popular art form, macrame. A fixture of every 1970s home, macrame is making a comeback on the contemporary art scene. In this project, you will learn a variety of knot-tying techniques to create a unique macrame project perfect for any home.

Learn how to paint the perfect woodland scene, featuring birch trees and accompanying leaves, using a few simple techniques and materials. You will be guided, step-by step, through the painting process and be introduced to the art terms and techniques related to this project. Friends and family will be impressed by everything you learn, and create in this one-time nature-themed workshop!

Organic Wire Sculptures
Art
Taking inspiration from the natural surroundings or images of plants and wildlife, participants will create their own 3D wire form by bending and shaping metal wire. Finished projects will consist of 3D shaped wire mounted on a base, culminating in a uniquely organic sculpture you will be proud to share with your family and friends.
