The summer swim program is designed for swimmers who have some competitive swimming experience (member of a high school team, club, or YMCA team). The camp will focus primarily on maintaining a general level of swimming fitness, as well as developing more coordination and athleticism that will help swimmers improve their strokes. In a typical practice we will spend about 30-45 minutes doing strength training on land, then move to the pool for the remainder of practice to work on stroke technique and general cardiovascular conditioning for swimming. These sessions are a perfect opportunity for swimmers who want to begin the high school season in shape or to bridge the gap between spring and fall sports. In order to make this camp as safe as possible and to prevent the spread of COVID-19, athletes will be assigned workout pods for practice. We will also mandate that masks are worn by participants and coaches at all times when they are not in the water. We will do our best to maintain six feet of separation between individuals within a pod, but the pool has limited space. Different pods will absolutely not be in close contact with each other during camps. Families are expected to follow the same procedures as during the swim season for reporting possible COVID symptoms or close contacts with the school and coach during camps.
There is no possibility to pro-rate fees, switch or make-up dates. Students must be registered prior to arriving on the pool deck, payment and registration will not be accepted on the Parkview pool deck.
